Glacier Express The slowest express train in the world! Ride the rails up into the clouds, through untouched alpine countryside, over roaring mountain streams, past towering walls of rock. Between St Moritz and Zermatt, the Glacier Express runs through the Swiss Alps, over the Landwasser Viaduct and 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and over the Operalp Pass, at an altitude of more than 2,000 metres. During your trip onboard the Glacier Express, from St Moritz to Zermatt (or reverse), there are several options to ensure that you don’t go hungry. You can enjoy a 3-course menu in the dining car or the dish of the day at your seat (reservations required). Alternatively, all trains have a Railbar, where you can enjoy refreshments in an often social atmosphere. The Glacier Express train’s modern panorama viewing cars are truly comfortable. Whether in 1st or 2nd Class, you’ll reach your destination in comfort and well rested. The 1st Class panorama viewing car offers 36 comfortable seats with table, airconditioning and an information channel. You’ll enjoy similar comfort and service in 2nd class with 48 seats. GoldenPass Line The GoldenPass Line is one of the most picturesque and popular in Switzerland. It links Montreux on the Vaud Riviera to Lake Lucerne, the historic heart of Switzerland. It has direct connections to both Geneva and Zurich airports. Travel through some of Switzerland’s most spectacular scenery, where every twist offers yet another stunning view. There are two train options available. The Panoramic trains offer all of the modern comforts with 1st and 2nd Class options, along with 8 VIP seats at the front of the train providing the unique view usually only seen by the train driver. Classic trains offer a romantic retro style of travel in refurbished 1930’s Pullman coaches. Bernina Express One of the most spectacular ways to cross the Swiss Alps! The Bernina Express passes mighty glaciers on its descent from Chur to the swaying palms of Tirano. Travelling along a UNESCO World Heritage route, you’ll journey through 55 tunnels, across 196 bridges and reach an altitude of 2,253 metres above sea level at Ospizio Bernina. The Bernina Express operates year round with daily services departing Chur and St Moritz. There is also a connecting Bernina Express Bus service between Tirano and Lugano.
