MINDFULNESS ~ Be The Watcher Four Steps Toward Awareness

By Dhara Lemos

M

editation and meditation techniques are a passion of mine! They transformed my life and also saved it a few times. But now more than ever, with the coronavirus outbreak and quarantine, meditation techniques are helping me cope with my emotions so I can stay in a healthy state of mind and body. I would like to talk about the very core of meditation . . . awareness. All meditation techniques have the same goal, which is to make us more awakened/ alert than we ordinarily are. A few

essential things are necessary in every technique, such as a relaxed state and no fighting with the mind. Just watch with a relaxed awareness, without judgment... mindfulness. Millions of people miss out on meditation because they have had the wrong impression from some of its practitioners—those who take it far too seriously and obsessively, and those who end up rejecting life rather than embracing it. In reality, a meditative person is playful; life is fun for him or her. Life is “Leela,” the Hindi word for “the play of life.” Meditative people enjoy life tremendously, they’re not serious, and they are loving and relaxed. So, let’s have fun with meditation and life. The important question is: What is the core or the spirit of meditation? The essential core is to learn how to be the witness. Meditation is just

“being”, like a little child. Whenever you can find time for just being, you drop all doing and enjoy. The next question is: How can I enjoy just being? The answer is to first learn how to become the watcher. Watching can be meditation if there is a quality of being aware and alert, without judgment, what one could call mindfulness. Meditation is not against action. You don’t need to stop everything to be in meditation; you can bring the quality of being aware and present in the moment to your day-by-day actions. Whatever you do with awareness is meditation. Walking can be meditation if you walk alertly. Listening to the birds, looking at the sunset, dancing, or having a cup of tea or coffee can become a meditation if you are present in the “here and now.” For example, rather than drinking a cup of

tea or coffee automatically like a robot, watch yourself. Listen to the sound of the kettle, inhale the aroma, warm your hands on the cup, notice the clink of the cup on the saucer, and revel in the heat and taste of the drink. In other words, enjoy it! There are four steps toward awareness: 1. The Body - Be watchful of your body. Start with your body because it’s easier since you can touch it and feel it. Become alert to each gesture, tension, pain, or pleasure. Be aware when you eat, take a shower, read a book or this very article. Just pay attention, don’t try to change anything. It will seem as though a miracle is happening as you become more relaxed and peaceful through awareness. 2.The Mind - Now that you know how to watch the body, it’s easier to watch your mind. Becoming aware of your thoughts is more difficult because thoughts are more subtle than the body. We are much more closely identified with our minds than with our bodies. For example, if someone tells you that your body is sick, that you are not looking well, you may be worried and go to the doctor, but if someone says to you that your mind is sick, you immediately feel insulted and angry with the person. That’s because our sense of self, of who we are, is much more closely identified with our minds than with our bodies. And when you become aware of your thoughts you will be surprised at what’s going on inside you. There’s a madness inside us saying all kinds of things such as: I’m a failure, I’m not good looking enough, so on and so forth. We all know so well about the old tapes running in our subconscious.

Without awareness, this unconscious dialogue will continue. It affects everything we’re doing. We can change this situation by simply watching the mind. We need only to be willing to see and become aware of our minds. Slowly, slowly, the madness and chaos start to disappear and the mind settles into a peaceful awareness. 3. The Emotions - When your mind and body are relaxed and at peace, you will see that they are attuned to each other. There is a bridge, they are in harmony, and this harmony helps immensely to let you become aware of your quantum soup of emotions such as the feelings, sentiment, and moods that make us have reactions/ responses. Reaching this subtlest layer of awareness is the most difficult step, and when you become aware of your emotions, it’s just one more step to reach the state of enlightenment. But you do need to work up to that point of more intense awareness. 4.The Being - Once you are aware of body, mind, and emotions, they become part of one phenomenon. And when those become one and function in harmony, then and only then does the fourth step “happen,” which is the end of conflict and the awakening of the witness. This state of awareness has been given many names: enlightenment, awakening

There are many Meditation techniques that you can use. The one that I love and the one I started early in my 20ths, are the active meditations from my spiritual teacher Osho. Also remember that you can use anything as meditation, like dance, tai chi, running, or walking, as they are excellent ways to begin the process of BEING the WATCHER because they are centered on the body.

of the Christ consciousness, becoming the Buddha, and becoming one with the Divine. So remember, what’s very important is that you are watchful. But even if you forget to watch, the moment you see that you forgot to watch, that’s also awareness, so pass no judgment on yourself. There’s no need to feel bad about it; just go back to watching—that’s also part of the path. As we continue to watch, slowly our watching becomes stronger and more stable, a transformation begins, and we can just be.

CALIRUB Let’s Talk Terpenes!

A Letter from the Publishers

And “inside” these scents, or terpenes, are a large majority of the compounds that “make” an oil an analgesic, anti-inflammatory.

Our Global Transformation Has Begun-Ready Or Not

A

quick reminder if you are still at home that our magazine can be read online. Also, our advertisers have risen to the challenge of keeping you safe while in their office or presence; others are using ZOOM & SKYPE for counseling, therapy and readings. This, the Pandemic, has created an opportunity for all of us to re-evaluate our lives, our health and what is important to us, our friends and family. There will come a time when we will need to pay close attention with our new awareness and not “normalize” and start using the same thinking that created our civilization’s problems in the first place. It’s time to reinvent ourselves and how we react to the many dangers in our world. One thing has become clear, we need to do everything possible to strengthen our immune systems, and this Pandemic has made this perfectly clear. As I walk through our health food stores I see an abundance of fresh organic vegetables and vitamins on the shelves, strange times. Life as we’ve known it is over, as it should be, because life as we’ve known it is what brought us to this point. So stay out of fear (that emotion is devastating to the immune system by the way) and look at life for what it is…our grand adventure though space and time and yes, This Too Shall Pass. And remember also that many of the ads are still the same information, contact them for updates about their quarentine protocols. Keep in mind that life will continue on and this issue covers April through most of August and we will need to start living life again. A special thank you to all of our doctors, nurses, law enforcement and first responders on the front line. Rahasya & Dhara, Lotus Guide

here is so much to share with you about terpenes, ESPECIALLY the terpenes in CALIRUB. Let’s start at the beginning. CALIRUB is unique in that it was designed to be much more than an effective Topical Pain Relief formula. First, we wanted it to smell heavenly. By studying essential oils and the works of French perfumer G. W. Piesse, we learned that when blending a perfume of essential oils that they are actually classified by their scent and evaporation rate. Piesse divided these scents (terpenes) into notes, much like a musical scale, giving each oil a Top, Middle, or Base note. Top notes have the highest evaporation rate. Middle notes next, and the Base notes last. The best part, when it comes to blending these oils or notes, (much like a musical scale where notes create chords), is that the base note fixes the top and middle notes (scents or terpenes), which keeps them from evaporating.

All the information in this issue, should not be considered a substitute for medical advice. Consult your physician before making any health decisions.

Commonly Shared Terpenes in CALIRUB Terpenes, (also known as terpenoids), are found in every aromatic plant, and in some animals and insects. Do you like the smell of an almond orchard in bloom? Do you get a sense of well-being walking in a forest? Yes. Why? Well, you are surrounded by terpenes! With over 20,000 terpenes identified in plants, and over several hundred identified in Full Spectrum Hemp, let’s narrow the field and talk about a few of them in the CALIRUB blend. • Myrcene: (In Full Spectrum Hemp, Lemongrass, Sweet Orange, Bay West Indies, Lavandin, Scotch Pine). Fruity, clovelike aroma. Has potential to reduce inflammation, and act as a sedative, analgesic, antimutagenic, anti-viral, and antioxidant. • Linalool: (Full Spectrum Hemp, Bay West Indies, Gardenia Effleurage, Sweet Orange, Lavandin, Lemongrass). Sweet, woody, and citrus; with a clean floral scent. Acts as a sedative and muscle-relaxant; anticonvulsant, anti-viral, pain-reliever, anxiety reliever, and insect repellant. • Limonene: (Full Spectrum Hemp, Bay West Indies, Elemi, Lavandin, Sweet Orange, Scotch Pine, Elemi, Lemongrass). Citrus scent. Anti-viral. Helps with anxiety, depression, inflammation, pain and cancer. • Caryophyllene: (Full Spectrum Hemp, Lavandin, Patchouli, Scotch Pine, Clove Bud, Allspice, Patchouli, Lemongrass). Spicy, peppery, woody, cloves. The only identified terpene that actually activates the endocannabinoid system to provide anti-inflammatory effects, pain-relieving properties, relief from anxiety/depression, and act as an antioxidant and anti-viral. All plants, animals, and people have an endocannabinoid system. • Eugenol: (Bay West Indies, Allspice, Clove Bud Oil). Spicy, clove-scent. Excellent antibiotic, anti-viral, sedative, and pain reliever. • Terpinolene: (Full Spectrum Hemp, Elemi, Gardenia Effleurage, Lavandin, Scotch Pine). Piney, floral, herbal. Can work as an aphrodisiac, antibiotic, antioxidant, anti-tumor, sedative, anti-inflammatory, anti-malaria, and anti-anxiety. • a-Patchoulene: (Patchouli). Rich, sweet, dark, earthy, and woody with a hidden fruity note. Can work as an aphrodisiac, antioxidant, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, antidepressant, and antimutagenic. You can now see why we are excited about CALIRUB! It can help reduce pain caused by inflammation, but it is much more. A combination of Aromatherapy, Perfume, and a Topical Pain Relief formula - all in one. The sum of all – a cornucopia of organic, wildcrafted scents and terpenes! Don’t forget to Thank a Terpene! And, the next time you pass an intoxicating scent, don’t forget to thank a Terpene. Thank them for what they offer us! You May Have a Thyroid Problem

KNOW THE SIGNS thyroid cases. Symptoms often come on gradually, making it difficult to tell if this is a medical issue. I am going to do an overview of some of the symptoms people suffer from with an underactive thyroid.

By Dr. Ashley Olberg

M

any people suffer from thyroid disorders. In fact, the current estimate is that twenty million Americans suffer from a thyroid disorder with 60% of those people being unaware of it. There are some key symptoms to look out for if you are concerned about having a thyroid issue. Issues with the thyroid involve your body making either too much or too little thyroid hormone, causing changes to your metabolism. The most common issue with the thyroid is called hypothyroid, or when your thyroid gland is not making enough thyroid hormone for your body. This amounts to 80% of

Poor Mood Yes! Can you believe it? If we have heard of hypothyroid we often only think of gaining weight or having a hard time losing weight. However, mood can be affected with hypothyroid. The lack of these hormones can make you feel depressed, and the lack of energy from untreated hypothyroid also compounds the issue. If you experience any changes in mood, this is a good place to look as well.

and constipated. This can be a tough symptom to find the cause of, though. Oftentimes, the thyroid does play a role, but this isn’t the only cause. I have many patients that come in thinking their fatigue has to be due to their thyroid, but all thyroid lab results are normal. This can cause a lot of frustration for people. That is why we cannot forget about other important organ systems that may be unbalanced, making us feel fatigued as well. These include your adrenal glands, which produce important hormones related to waking up and having enough energy to get through your day. The adrenal glands can also make too much cortisol, keeping you up at night or not allowing you to get deep sleep. There can also be low sex hormone production, which can also cause low mood, low energy, and even poor muscle tone. Iron deficiency is another big cause of fatigue, so make sure to have your red blood cells and ferritin levels checked.

Low Energy One of the main symptoms I hear of from patients that have hypothyroidism is the lack of energy and drive they have. This is due to the decrease in your metabolism that affects every cell in your body. Holistic Psychotherapy Along with low energy, people can in Nevada City feel cold, weak,

High Cholesterol We can have elevated cholesterol or lipid values when our thyroid is underactive. There is a lot of misconception around cholesterol levels. I recommend ruling out hypothyroid as a potential cause of elevated cholesterol. Diet also plays a big role. We have all been taught that a major cause of high cholesterol is eating too much fat and eggs. However, when I see high cholesterol levels, I usually recommend eating less carbohydrates and sugar. Once patients decrease sugar and carbohydrates, eating more vegetables, fruit, healthy proteins, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats like extra virgin olive oil, unprocessed coconut oil, and avocados, their cholesterol levels go down. They also feel a lot better and typically have more energy! Win win! Hair Loss and Dry Skin I see hair loss and dry skin in many hypothyroid patients. However, there are other causes of hair loss and dry skin to look into if these symptoms don’t go away with treatment. Other causes can be low iron or low iron stores, heavy metals in the body, a poor diet, or micronutrient deficiencies. You can also have too much thyroid hormone. An excess of the hormone causes an increase in the metabolism and can cause symptoms such as weight loss, anxiety, insomnia, sweating, rapid heartbeat, and irritability. Due to the stress that too much thyroid hormone causes on the heart, you will want to get this treated with your doctor.

How do I find out if I have a thyroid disorder? See your doctor or provider to have them run lab tests to check your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) level. This hormone is actually made in the brain, in the pituitary gland. Other labs tests to include with your TSH are Total and Free T3 and T4 levels. If these lab tests suggest there is an issue with the thyroid, I recommend having your thyroid antibodies looked at. They are the TPO antibodies and thyroglobulin antibodies, which can tell you if you have an autoimmune condition of the thyroid. Another less known lab test is for reverse T3, which can block thyroid hormone from getting into the cell (not good). One of the best ways to decrease reverse T3 is to lower your stress level. Treatment If you are suffering from hypothyroid you can benefit from your doctor prescribing thyroid hormone. Sometimes I recommend nutrients to help with the thyroid function as well. This may include the use of herbs, seaweed, and adrenal support. I base this decision on patients’ symptoms, personal preferences, as well as their lab values. If the patient is experiencing so much fatigue they cannot make changes, I may recommend starting with hormone treatment before

adding herbs to support the other organ systems involved. I never look at thyroid issues alone. I ask why. Is there a toxic burden on the body, really high stress, are other hormones out of balance, is there a lot of chronic inflammation we need to find the source of? These are all questions we need to ask ourselves and our providers, as we need to treat the whole body and remember that it all plays a role. Dr. Ashley Olberg is a naturopathic doctor at Vital Functional Medicine. She uses a variety of therapies to help patients improve their health, and works with conditions including hormone imbalance, thyroid disorders, autoimmune disease as well as stomach and digestion issues. High Blood Pressure...

A New, Holistic Approach nearly eighty million Americans. In fact, HBP contributed to over half (53%) of deaths nationwide from all causes.

By Vickie Light, RN, and Mark Light, MD A National Epidemic High Blood Pressure (HBP) is a disease of the blood vessels that transport vital nutrients and oxygen through our bodies. The blood vessels (arteries, veins and capillaries) become damaged, inflamed or constricted, limiting the flow of blood to all the cells of our bodies. In turn, our cells grow unhealthy and stop functioning. In addition, HBP can cause damage to all the organs in our bodies and can lead to premature death. An estimated one in three American adults (over 100 million people) have HBP. The Root Cause of Over Half the Deaths in America In recent years, High Blood Pressure has been a leading cause of death in America. Currently, that mortality rate is increasing. Between 2005 and 2015, the mortality rate associated with HBP increased by eleven percent, killing

What Can You Do about HBP? 1. Know Your Blood Pressure. Research shows the optimal blood pressure range is between 115 over 70, and 125 over 80. If your blood pressure is above this range (or any reading within it such as 125 over 70 or 115 over 80), then you need to take action to regulate your blood pressure. 2. Understand the Causes of Your HBP. HBP can be caused by mineral deficiencies, specifically potassium or magnesium. The symptoms of potassium deficiency include heart palpitations, cardiac arrhythmias, fatigue, dizziness, brain fog, and irritability. With a magnesium deficiency, blood pressure rises, triggering other symptoms such as muscle spasms, migraines, spastic colon, eye twitches, asthma, depression, insomnia, impotence, heart arrhythmias, Alzheimer’s Disease, Raynaud Syndrome, angina, heart attacks with instant death, constipation, and water retention. 3. Explore Holistic Treatment Options. Recent studies conducted at Harvard University and Tufts University show that vitamin C and E retard the

progression of arteriosclerosis and inhibit plaque growth, reducing the chance of ICU death by 57%. Including healthy sources of these vitamins in your diet can help reduce risks of HBP. Eating four stalks of celery a day, for example, has been shown to significantly lower blood pressure. 4. Detoxify Your Body. We live in the most toxic times in history. Our bodies are bombarded daily by plastics, heavy metals, exhaust, mold, hydrogenated oils, smoke, processed foods, and pesticides. These toxins damage our blood vessels and leave us susceptible to HBP. Toxins can be removed via NAET and medicinal remedies. 5. Consider NAET Treatments. NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique) is a holistic, non-invasive integrated energy medicine technique that approaches illnesses and diseases from a different perspective. When treating patients, NAET practitioners address nutritional deficiencies, the prevalence of toxins, and allergic responses of the body to foreign materials. Once the causes of the condition are treated with NAET, the symptoms are cleared as well.

NAET Helps Scary Heart Condition – A Testimonial “I have a heart condition called Calcific Aortic Valve Stenosis. This condition not only limits arterial circulation but it also predisposes me to dangerous cardiac arrhythmia such as acute atrial fibrillation. These arrhythmias can also be caused by stimulatory drugs and substances such as caffeine. One day recently I went into acute atrial fibrillation and felt severely dizzy and short of breath. I wasn’t sure what was happening and seriously considered going to the emergency room for treatment. Luckily, Vickie was available and treated me for the arrhythmia as well as the root causes that she discovered using muscle testing: too much caffeine in my system and the presence of a common virus that

can disrupt the electrical connections in the heart. Within 30 minutes, I could feel my heart slow down. Within 60 minutes I had a normal heartbeat rhythm. I was so grateful! On Resilience & Fighting Burnout

By Rachel Koontz

I

want to send a shoutout to anyone out there who is going through a hard time and still showing up to do the powerful work you do. You’ve got tears in your eyes and you’re still holding it down. You are badass. Take a moment for yourself right now and take a deep breath. Consider… have you reached a breaking point? Are you past it? We can function for a while stretching beyond our limits, but this is not sustainable. Trust me, I’ve been there: working long hours, over-

committing to a busy schedule, saying ‘yes’ to things I don’t really want to do, giving too much, and not making time for selfcare. We are resilient creatures – capable of ‘powering through’ a lot. But at what point do we need to make a change? Let’s talk for a minute about burnout. Let’s talk about what to do if you feel like you are pouring from an empty cup. What does burnout feel like? • Being drained physically, mentally and emotionally • Feelings of being overwhelmed or helplessness • A sense of apathy that can lead to low productivity or poor performance • Sleeping less and/or not sleeping well • Disconnect in relationships • Feelings of isolation or detachment • Lowered immunity and frequent illness

If you can identify with these feelings, you may be suffering from burnout. You’re not alone. How do you get back on track? Here are 10 ways to overcome burnout. 1. Take a step back and evaluate. What is causing this experience of burnout? Is it work related? Perhaps you are working in a high-pressure environment and are experiencing a lack of recognition for your work. Maybe your work feels unimportant or your job demands are unclear. Consider, too, if some of your personality traits are playing a role. Do you put a lot of pressure on yourself? Do you have perfectionist tendencies, feel a need to be in control, or struggle with a pessimistic view on things? Often high achievers go through periods of burnout. Take some time to do the difficult work of evaluating what has led to this situation, and what’s causing your feelings of being overwhelmed. Be honest with yourself.

Available in Chico

2. Prioritize self-care, starting with basic needs. Are you cold, hungry, dehydrated, or sleep deprived? If your body’s core needs are not being honored, everything else becomes affected. Create a plan for prioritizing good sleep, good food, and a simple exercise routine you can stick with. Implement small goals and take it one day at a time. By getting back to basics, you will empower yourself to feel better. 3. Celebrate small steps. Burnout occurs over time; keep in mind that finding solutions and healing from it can also take some time. What small victory can you celebrate today? 4. Ask for help. This can’t be emphasized enough: there is no shame in asking for help! Often the people around us who love and care about us want to help but don’t realize what we need unless we say something. Speak up! Ask for help from friends, family, and colleagues. Not sure what to say or how to ask for help? Start with, “I’m struggling.” Or, “I’m not sure what to do.” You could also hire a therapist, coach, trainer, or other practitioner who you feel comfortable around. 5. Notice where you feel resistance. Are you scared to look at what’s causing you stress? Lean in. Your healing sits on the other side of wherever you are meeting resistance. 6. Rest, in multiple ways. Often we think of rest and we think about getting enough sleep, taking time to be quiet,

or watching a Netflix show and ‘zoning out.’ The rest you need may be more than physical, mental or emotional rest. You may need social, sensory, spiritual or even creative rest. Step away from

social interactions that are stressful. Give yourself permission to be alone. Consider any creative projects that may be contributing to burnout. Rest can come in many forms, and all of them are valuable. 7. Get outside. Nature has a way of reminding us that everything is OK, and giving us perspective. Spend some time sitting under a tree, listening to the sound of the birds, watching ocean waves, standing in grass, or gazing up at the sky. See what it does for your state of mind.

8. Do the difficult work of cutting things out of your life that aren’t sustainable. What’s been draining you the most? What can you clear from your plate? Change is difficult, but worth it. 9. Honor the authentic YOU. Trust the part of you that knows, deep down, what you need in order to recover from this difficult time. Make time to meditate, write, and reflect. 10. Give thanks for what you’re learning. This struggle you’re going through right now is giving you compassion. This rough patch is helping shape you into a more understanding, balanced, knowledgeable, confident version of you. Chances are it isn’t fun to go through, but this experience is bringing you valuable growth. You are learning to transform pain into power. Burnout is real, especially when you give so much. Here’s a loving reminder to take gentle care of yourself. We need you. Rachel Koontz is a yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner and blogger. She is a member of Wellness for Being and works from Chico. MAKING PEACE

Putting Your Energy Field to Work By Amy Alward, Ph.D.

S

itting at the stoplight, you might drum your fingers on the wheel, wishing for green. You might snap off the radio in reaction to the news. You might sigh in exasperation, “Peace is impossible!” And you would be right, because your brain will believe your words. It will force your reality through that narrow vision and make it so. If you want peace in the world, create it inside yourself. But first, are you fully committed? Are you committed to a different, better life? Are you committed to changing, so your vision can come to be? I am a teacher of a lot of things, affirmations, meditation, Reiki, and…inner alchemy. Still, I know that no matter how well I explain or illustrate a concept, the work of creating peace— of transformation and redemption—is really all about the work or commitment of the student. Are you ready? I’m ready when you are. The world needs you now. Learning to breathe and finding strength to rebuild broken strands of peace has been my life’s work. I am autistic, and a survivor on many fronts—from incest, to emotional abuse, to the Paradise Camp Fire. I

have lost everything (more than once) and learned about ‘getting back up’ the hard way. Each of my struggles taught me about holding a vision, breathing through pain, and focusing where you are headed. The first thing to know is that you are stronger than you think. The second is to know you are never alone. The third is to know you are worth every effort it takes to stand and move forward. Sometimes, the seed of peace is in the grit to takes to stand up and try. I believe in you. For over 30 years I have been working with my own energetic field, channeling angels, and learning to be in relationship with the energy that powers the universe. Reiki and shamanic practice have been instrumental in my

journey, speeding my healing in an incredible way. I love to teach Reiki but committing to a Reiki practice may not be your calling. For this reason, I have put together a sort of “text book” for personal transformation, PeaceWeaving: a course in healing yourself and the universe. The course is currently offered at the Living Free Healing Center a couple times a year and is open to all—whether you want to attend a single session or all 16. We meet several times for each of four topics: Energetic Anatomy, Energetic Hygiene, Energetic Tools, and Self-Healing Techniques. The point of this book (and classes) is to make transformational techniques accessible to anyone— whether just getting started or well on their path toward peace. All my students learn that the human energetic system is an electrical circuit. In fact, each of us is a transistor. Understanding your energetic needs will help you build a system that functions better. The work is to create a self-sustaining field that

nourishes and stabilizes you even as chaos, trauma, or uncertainty unfold. This is actually easy to do, and it starts with being well grounded—physically and metaphysically. Many religious or metaphysical teachings have us trained to reach up for energy or connection with the Divine as part of our enlightenment process. This results in a focus on scarcity, as your energy field (the transistor), can only receive elevated energy to the extent that you are also grounded. In other words, we have an automatic circuit breaker to prevent us from shorting out! If you wish to receive more energy or Light from the universe, the answer is to root more deeply in the ground, the source of our physical beings. There are many ways to establish a physical ground, and many employ these techniques— earthing, gardening, walking outside, deep breathing. However, it is important, in this age of pervasive electronics to also ground energetically. Doing so will allow energy to travel your system in both

Sacred

directions at once: moving energy down through you (from head to toe) while also moving it up (toe to head). When you become more deeply rooted in the earth energetically, you open access to elevated universal energy (however you choose to name this Source). When your energetic system is fully grounded, it operates just like a

transforming yourself and the universe. Are you ready to commit? Now is the time. Will you find inner peace after just this lesson or after a few class sessions? That is up to you. Commit to creating a different space inside you next time you get stopped at a light!

transistor: more energy is allowed to flow in, becomes amplified inside your system, and then passes into the world. Your Wealth is Within You!

By Dr. Terry Cole-Whittaker

I

f you want to know the qualities, vastness, and value of your wealth, you need to examine where your wealth comes from, what it is, and what this can do for you and others, given our godlike qualities, abilities, powers and present needs. Your wealth is the wealth of the Divine Source. Who and what we are part of as spirit/souls, when wearing these curtains of AI-3D material (falseego consciousness), that covers our authentic, Divine soul-body. Count among your treasures and resources that can be traded, your experiences, talents, education, work, creativity, genius, odd jobs, hobbies, volunteer work, roles you play, relationship skills, wisdom, and character qualities. Combine these with

your Divine consciousness and heartfelt intentions to endeavor for the welfare and well-being of all divine beings, including animals, by offering your wonderful services and products to share, trade, exchange, and gift to others while receiving gifts, money, goods and services in return. Your natural resources include your ability to access cosmic and universal knowledge, extra-sensory abilities, and supernatural capabilities, perhaps hidden or rejected as not possible. I have found that the more I know about and experience my relationship with my invisible Beloved Source in the silence within, commune with nature, ground my energy in the earth by walking barefooted, and appreciate the mystical qualities of the Divine, the more I experience selfsatisfaction, supreme soul pleasure and witness miracles in every moment. Using the example of the milk and cheese, your wealth is you and not something you have to get or need to fear losing. Your wealth is who and what you are, an everlasting, ever-increasing abundance of love, happiness, play, enthusiasm, creativity, talent, genius, soul pleasure, confidence, divine wisdom and much more that each of us can realize, trust, and activate by remembrance and use.

Thoughts are constructed with letters, making words with sounds, definitions and meanings that operate as reality seeds planted in the soil of your subconscious mind. These thoughts are fed by your faith, your attitude, emotions, and actions, whatever those may be, healthful or diseased—your free will choice. The question is: What kind of a garden of your experiences do you want to have? Whatever has been planted consciously, hypnotically, or subliminally in the soil of your fertile mind are seeds growing in your garden that will produce fruit. For this reason, it is most important to recognize and root out any and all fear, guilt, lack, and selfabuse seeds and beliefs that have been ruining your garden and obstructing your desired manifestations. Remember who you are as an eternal God/Source/Divine particle. Robert Louis Stevenson, the American poet, writer and philosophy stated: “Don't focus on your harvest of today, but focus on planting the seeds of your harvest of tomorrow” Whatever the plant yields has to be in the seed, so whatever you want to yield in your world also has to be contained within your agreed-upon thought (emotionally-powered seeds). One apple seed contains the ingredients for producing a tree with thousands of

apples with millions of seeds. Each seed can produce a tree and continue the process. We are like seeds of the Divine, so what is possible from the standpoint of our eternal, divine potential comes from our Source and Substance. Thus, we are ever-blossoming as eternal god seeds already possessing all that we could ever need to provide for our self both in this material realm and soul-wise. Claim it, now! Our greatest challenge is to transcend self-doubt and increase our powers of manifestation. When we can do that our life’s garden seeds grow abundantly and beautifully within our consciousness. Doubt of self is akin to pulling out your plants by the roots to see if they are growing, causing us to shun our inner guidance in favor of fear- and guilt-based thoughts. Before worrying, panicking, or freezing in fear as if there's no hope and all is lost, be conscious and realize that at some moment this physical body, as in all prior incarnations, will be vacated by you. You will still exist in your beautiful, eternalsoul body (I have seen mine), but not in this particular, physical 3D body with all your stuff. Whatever happens, nothing and no one can ever hurt or harm you in any way, given who you are as part and parcel of the Supreme Source and Substance of all that is. Source is not in us. We exist within Source and of Source. Just as milk

is not in cheese, for cheese is totally and completely milk. We are, already, totally and completely godlike and divine.

Bhagavad-gita 9.4: “I pervade this whole universe by my form invisible to material senses, since I am the cause. All entities are situated in me, but I am not in them, since I am completely detached.” Our most valuable wealth is, that it offers each of us the fullness of what is possible is God-consciousness/ Self-realization, which is the result of remembering who we are and never forgetting, regardless of what anyone else states. By immersing ourselves in the hearing, reading, speaking, emotionalizing, imagining, feeling and

acting from the Truth of who we are and our Source, we live from Grace. Instant Spiritual Medicine: Be firmly situated in the silence and listen for and feel the presence of the Divine, your eternal Beloved, partner, best friend, and Self of every self. Say, “I give myself permission to let go of worry, fear, guilt, lack and the belief in death, knowing that in Godconsciousness all is well and there is nothing to worry about ever again.” To solve problems: Right before going to sleep at night, breathe deeply, center your awareness in your heart, and turn any and all worries over to your Beloved Divine presence that you are part of, and be willing to receive the divine solutions, guidance, and manifestations in the AM. You can watch our YouTube videos filmed for you to take back your powers and inspire, empower, and prosper you spiritually and materially. An Exploration of Our Authentic Story By Christina Mercy & Tiana Griego

W

hat if we were actually able to peek between the worlds? One foot in the Cosmos and one foot grounded on the Earth. This is an invitation to explore these realms… What if we were able to use our imaginary compass to navigate the way? I hope I’ve captured your attention, because this sounds pretty exciting to me. I utilize methodologies that have their roots connected with Carl Jung’s work. He was one of the great pioneers of psychotherapy, and he and his students studied everything from psychology to the esoteric. I incorporate many healing methods to peek between these worlds, and journey to a place where perhaps our authentic story lives. That may sound unimaginable, but perhaps that story is waiting patiently behind a veil for us to discover her. What if we could

truly bring healing to our story? Using art, symbol, language, dream images, and creative thinking, as our ancestors literally did.

I use a blend of depth psychology, art, dream work, archetypal images, and intentional creativity, along with our visionary imagination. If we take a look at our indigenous lineages, they offer us glimpses of past times. A time when women met in sacred retreat with the grandmothers, and mothers and babies at their breasts, often referred to as gathering in the Red Tent. I imagine recreating this in our contemporary society. We are extending an invitation for women to attend our free, monthly Red Thread Circles. The Red Thread is a symbol of connection. Legend says, “Those who are destined to meet are connected by an imaginary Red Thread”. We offer monthly women’s gatherings, passing of the Red Thread, drumming, rattling, connecting, and sometimes Shamanic Journey. A supportive women’s circle may just be one of the most powerful means known throughout humanity.

Our Latest Feature Product:

CEZANNE Hair Treatments! “It’s Nature’s Way of Smoothing – Lose Your Frizz!”

My daughter Tiana and I work closely together and share a lot of similar teachings. Tiana uses unconventional healing modalities to help unravel wounds. Tiana works with herbs, tarot, the sacred feminine, art, dreams, and carefully curated ceremonies. We wild forage herbs in nature and have created a line of herbal formulas called Stardust Apothecary. Each blend is crafted on the new moons and full moons or other auspicious days, in ceremony, with love, and intention. Just as our great, great, grandmothers did. Our modern society is being drawn more and more to explore ancient and indigenous ways of healing, and we hear of people answering the call, traveling to Peru and Costa Rica, often times for plant medicine and serious deep healing retreats. One of our modern healing practices, clinical hypnotherapy, was introduced by Milton Erickson, a psychiatrist who actually healed himself of crippling polio by practicing self-hypnosis. It is considered an evidence-based practice in psychotherapy. In comparison, Shamanic Journey Psychotherapy work is a nondrug, indigenous modality, and mimics Alchemical Hypnotherapy in many ways. Both Hypnotherapy and Shamanic Journey psychotherapy, explore the deep psychological depths of our own uncharted unconsciousness, and taps into the collective unconsciousness discovered by Carl Jung.

The Anthropologist, Michael Harner Ph.D. and other early pioneers referred to this unconsciousness state, as non-ordinary reality. Whatever name we want to call it, it’s a place where we can find deep healing and answers to some of the mysteries in our lives. Now, more than ever, we are being called to be our own teachers, and explore these terrains of our souls. I act as a facilitator on your personal journey of exploration assisting in bringing to consciousness what your unconscious may be seeking to know. This can appear in what Carl Jung referred to as our shadow. These aspects were explored and honored by our ancestors, in their ceremonies and rites of passage. Our modern lifestyles have very little room for this, but it seems our modern problems are seeking answers and wanting to integrate the two, the conscious and unconsciousness. An insightful healing tool I use in my practice, and was brought to our community after the Paradise fire, is Brainspotting. Brainspotting works with the deep brain, the brain stem and the limbic system, and the body’s intelligent central nervous system. It is another evidence-based, therapeutic practice to heal after a traumatic event. It has been found to have profound psychological, emotional, and physical consequences. Another realm of fun and deep psychological healing comes from practicing art, in its many forms. In an Intentional Creativity workshop, no art

experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided, although it is helpful to bring your own paintbrushes, as I believe our paintbrushes and pens are an extension of our heart. This was taught to me by my teacher, Shiloh Sophia McCloud. What we may experience in an Intentional Creativity workshop is to tap into inner sources of sacred wisdom and unlock creative dimensions of ourselves that were previously unexplored. If you are a woman and seeking healing and community, I would like to pass the Red Thread to you. I’d like to offer you a place at our Red Thread Circles, where we pass the thread to be heard, witnessed, and create a sense of connection. In light of the pandemic and most recent information related to COVID 19, I have gone to 100% telehealth, and all appointments will be via Skype FaceTime or telephone. Many blessings. Directed or not, Panspermia is one of the best and most logical ways humanity arrived here on this planet. That being said, what most people don’t realize is that a lot of our evolution has come about as a response to viruses; you can already see where I’m headed I bet. Whether it be cosmic, man made or natural, humanity and viruses have a relationship that dates back to the very beginning of our time. This latest pandemic will not be the last so understanding everything possible about our response and relationship with viruses and how they effect our human genome is crucial. To some degree we are all wondering why bad things (i.e. Pandemic) happens to good people. The only thing I know for sure is that a lot depends on how we react to bad things. In a situation like this it’s easy to lose our humanity and respond with anger. If you’ve tried meditation and mindfulness and it falls short when your world seems to fall apart, this book will definitely help, because the truth be told, we live in a f*cked up world and there’s very little we can do about most of what’s going on. The Benefits of Juicing R AW C A N N A B I S

W

by Marta Macbeth With all the recent national media attention on cannabis, have we overlooked some simple and perhaps not so obvious uses of this amazing plant? In an interview for this article, Dr. William Courtney, MD, advocates juicing raw cannabis leaves for their outstanding health benefits. Dr. Courtney, one of the first advocates of juicing, recommends juicing raw, fresh green leaves because they are loaded with cannabinoids, terpenes, essential fatty acids, flavinoids and other nutrients, without any psychoactivity. Typically, cannabis is smoked, ingested, or applied topically, and many users of cannabis are aware that THC and CBD are the main components that provide therapeutic benefits, including pain relief, as well as relief from sleep deprivation, anxiety, and inflammation. As research continues, the list of health benefits continues to grow. So far, hundreds of chemical compounds have been identified in the cannabis plant, with more than a 100 cannabinoids alone. Cannabinoids are the class of molecules produced by the plant that interact with the human nervous system, brain and body through

the endocannabinoid system (ECS) to produce a variety of effects. Although the dried flowers or buds are prized for their high THC content, in its raw form cannabis contains an amino acid called THCA, the acid form of THC, which is nonpsychoactive. It is through drying or heating (also called decarboxylation) that THCA is converted from its acid form into THC, its neutral form. THCA, and an array of other cannabinoids, including CBDA, are found in the raw green leaves and buds of the plant. Heating cannabis removes a wide range of amino acids, enzymes, and other nutrients that can support health and wellness. Research indicates that THCA has many health benefits. In August 2017, the British Journal of Pharmacology published a study by three leading companies active in the field of medicinal cannabis research. The study demonstrated that THCA has a great potential as a treatment modality for Huntington's disease (HD) and other metabolic, neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory diseases. Dr. Courtney says that more research needs to be done on juicing.

Currently, research on the benefits of juicing is limited, and research on THCA and CBDA is still in early stages. However, studies do indicate that a combination of THCA and CBDA has numerous health benefits. How to Juice Leaves I juice the raw green leaves immediately after they have been picked. You can get more THCA and other acid form cannabinoids, enzymes, terpenes, and nutrients. Start with one ounce of juice a day, which amounts to approximately 16 to 24 fresh leaves. First, wash the leaves in clean or filtered water, and then juice the fresh leaves within 24 hours after they have been harvested. I use a masticating juicer, or any cold press juicer will work. I put one ounce in my morning smoothie with a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. Because the acid form of cannabinoids is fat soluble, I add a little coconut oil to increase bioavailability of the cannabinoids to our ECS. You can also soak the leaves in hemp milk or other liquids that contains fats before juicing. Another way to drink

the juice is to add it to your favorite sparkling beverage with fresh-squeezed lemon juice. It’s basically a super food filled with anti-oxidants. Be creative and enjoy! If you do not have access to leaves on a daily basis, you can juice a batch of leaves and then freeze the juice in ice-cube trays. Place the frozen cubes in a freezer bag or sealed in glass to preserve the terpene content and protect it from frost. The leftover pulp also contains beneficial nutrients, and can be added to a smoothie. According to Dr. Courtney, if you don’t mind the strong flavor, “the best way is to put it in your mouth and chew it like a plug of tobacco.” You have a slow delivery of the benefits of the plant, including anti-bacterial and anti-

inflammatory compounds released in the mouth. Otherwise the pulp may be frozen. But don’t make the mistake of cooking it because the THCA will convert to THC! The best way to get fresh organic leaves is to grow your own. Most growers simply throw out or compost their leaves after the flowers have been harvested, not aware of their beneficial value. So find a local organic grower and ask them if you can have their excess leaves. Be sure to get organic leaves that are grown without any additives. I began juicing cannabis in 2017 after I heard about its anti-inflammatory properties. Three months later, I experienced a significant reduction of my physical pain and inflammation. Since then I have been inspired to learn as much as possible about the health benefits of cannabis, and to share my experience and knowledge with others. Dr. Courtney recommends juicing on a regular basis to receive the full benefits of the plant. He also notes that juicing raw cannabis is good for general health maintenance, but warns that if you are taking any medications

you should first consult a healthcare practitioner before starting a juicing regimen. Disclaimer: this is not medical advice. Always consult a healthcare practitioner. It Pays to Be Regular

L

ots of things in life are helped by being regular. Regular practices that are perennially wonderful habits are sleep, exercise, hydration, and saving, to name just a few. But one area of life where regularity is often overlooked happens in the bathroom. Being a doctor that helps people with digestion issues, I have to say having regular bowel function may be one of the most important things we can do for our overall health. While often the butt of may jokes, constipation is really no laughing matter for many Americans. If you are a woman, chances are 1 in 2 that you experience chronic constipation.

If you are over 60, chances are 1 in 3 that you are experiencing constipation more then you like. Here at the Allergy and Digestive Relief Center, we define constipation as less than one bowel movement per day.

www.ColonCleansingForEnergy.com

Why is having a healthy daily bowel movement so important? The bowel is one of the ways that our bodies remove toxins on a regular basis. When you are having less than a daily bowel movement your body is not removing toxins effectively. When constipation occurs, bacteria in the intestines ferment undigested food and create very, very toxic chemicals. Just the names of some of these toxins are enough to scare anyone -- skatol, putresene and cadaverine -- to name a few. When the bowel is not removing toxins effectively, other systems of detoxification such as the liver kidney, lungs and skin may be recruited to do the work of the bowel. Hence it’s not uncommon to see that people who have chronic constipation may have

chronic sinus problems, acne or skin rashes and bad breath, smelly urine or body odor. Chronic constipation is associated with a host other health

problems that are more than skin deep. High cholesterol is one. Bile, the brown pigment in your stool, is one of the way the body gets rid of excess cholesterol. Constipation causes the bile

Are you at risks for becoming constipated? - Aging - over 60, the bowel has reduced muscle function in the large intestine - Decrease stomach acid production, which occurs for many after age 40 - Decreased enzyme production - Food sensitivities may prevent you from digesting what you are eating. - Eating sugar—sugar dries the bowel out—making the stool hard to pass - Inadequate water intake - Decreased exercise and physical activity—slows down the movement of the stool - SAD - Standard American Diet—low in fiber, high in sugar - Medications - Pain relievers such as NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs), Acid blocking drugs like PPIs, antidepressants such as Nexium and Prilosec or omeprazole.

Body & Mind - Gallbladder removal - which results in poor emulsification of fats and increased constipation What you can do to help: - Eat more fibrous fruits, veggies, beans, grains and nuts to add bulk to the stool, which makes it easier to pass However this suggestion only works if you are not fiber intolerant or you don’t have Candida or SIBIO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth). You can determine if you have this problem by adding fiber to your diet. If it binds you up or makes you extremely gassy, we can help you with any one of these 3 conditions. - Drink at least two quarts of water per day. - Minimize sugar, processed and refined foods! - When you get the urge to go, don’t hold it in. Try a Squatty Potty or a toilet stool because the squatting position helps open up the rectum. Don’t sit on the

pot for extended times—if you are not having a bowel movement don’t hang around. Try rubbing the outer edges of the thighs, as that can help stimulate neurological connections to the bowel. What we can do to help: We have several different approaches we use for chronic constipation depending on our assessment of the causes. We will test you to see what you digest and what you don’t digest. Once we know the food groups that might be causing you problems, we work to enhance your digestion with specific enzyme formulas and identify the correct probiotics for you. We also test for food sensitivities and desensitize you to those foods so you can enjoy eating some of your favs again! We enhance neurological communication between the brain and each one of the digestive organs to restore digestive function.

A: Can you listen to music on ear buds? Have a potted plant on your desk? Put up photographs and pictures of wide-open spaces in nature on your desk and on your computer screen saver. On your breaks, go outside for a quick walk. Q: I drink too much but there are period when I don’t drink, so I’m not an alcoholic, right? A: Wrong. If drinking causes you problems, you can’t drink at all. It really helps to have a support group to be accountable to and learn from their experiences about other ways to cope when you feel unhappy or overwhelmed. Q: My siblings are addicts who live with my mother and create a lot of drama, which I worry about. How can I not let the tension spread into my own wonderful family? A: Think of their house as a little toy house that you place far away from you to disassociate a bit. Remind yourself that they are probably not going to change and they may be comfortable with their longestablished drama. As long as your mother is safe, focus on your own family, send healing thoughts to your family of origin and turn them over to higher powers. Q: My twins are graduating from college. What advice would you give them to be successful? tackle gradually. As one part is completed, it gives you energy to go on to the next part. *Listen to your intuition and pay attention to synchronicities. Guidance is there if we set the intention to ask for wisdom and take quiet time to listen. *Thought has power; use positive visualizations to achieve your goals. Coach yourself with praise and suggestions for improvement. *When you make a mistake, ask what the lesson is, rather than blaming. *Research shows that sense of gratitude is the most powerful determinant of wellbeing, so keep a gratitude journal. *Even if you’re in business with trusted friends, put all agreements in writing. *Buy everything possible with a credit card that gives you miles or money back and pay it off each month. *Keep a gift box and add to it as you find appealing gifts so you don’t have to holiday shop. *Shop at second hand stores and local farmers’ markets *If you have a garden, consider adding a few hens to eat insects and provide fertilizer and eggs. If one pecks her eggs, broadcast “scratch” on the ground. *Michael Pollan, author of The Omnivore’s Dilemma, says: “Don’t eat foods with more than five ingredients, or with ingredients you can’t pronounce, or that contain high-fructose corn syrup.” *Wall-to-wall carpet is too hard to keep clean. Laminate looks like wood and is the most sturdy. *With children avoid lectures and rely on consequences of their actions and ask them questions, such as “What do you think about…..?” *In any relationship, plan weekly time for fun and express more appreciation than criticism. *To fight injustice at work or politically, don’t go it alone, work with groups, allies, coalitions. Document evidence that

proves change is necessary. *Write to politicians and letters to the editor and vote in every election. *Understand that what goes around, comes around. Q: The pandemic is like a dystopian novel, spreading fear as well as disease. Is there something we can learn from it? A: The young climate activists I’m interviewing for a new book point out that the earth benefits from the decrease in pollution and warming due to decreased travel (their interviews are on my YouTube channel). This shows we can take steps to protect Planet A when there’s no Planet B. It’s also a lesson in how globally connected we are and isolation and walls don’t work. The hardships experienced by many workers without benefits or eligibility for unemployment funds illustrates growing inequality in a country where Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Warren Buffett own as much wealth as the bottom half of the US population--160 million people. Safety net legislation may emerge from the disaster. The Bible refers to shaking us up to teach there are consequences. This is a time to reflect, be humble, be less busy, and be reminded of important values such as caring for others and teaching our children. Another lesson is that time is not linear since psychics and astrologers predicted the pandemic. For example, in 2008 Sylvia Browne wrote in End of Days: Predictions and Prophecies About the End of the World, “In around 2020, a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe.” In her 2019 book Navigating the Financial Universe, Christeen Skinner predicted that an unnamed virus will emerge and cause financial disruptions 2020-2022. We can take this time of upheaval to deepen our understanding. www.lotusguide.com

Geoengineered Aerosol Spraying Their Effects on Human Health- What Can Be Done? By Marla Crites, Betty Credit, and Ted Holmes

W

hen we scan the morning skies we find, sadly, the relentless and intentional dumping of tons of hazardous material into our airspace. The resulting devastation wreaked on every innocent animal and plant is horrifying. The aerosol spray’s chemical makeup is chiefly coal fly ash, the tiniest particulates of ash dispersed when coal is burned. This finding matches the geoengineering patents on file with the U.S. Patent Office and is confirmed by tests of rain and surface water. The main heavy metals present in the spray are aluminum, barium and strontium. These substances are toxic to all life -- microbes, insects, plants and animals. This article examines their effects on human health.

CREATING THE NEW WORLD IN TIMES OF PARADIGM SHIFT A New DVD From Jack Allis Author & Spiritual Teacher

Aerosol Spray’s Effects on the Body Toxic nano-particulates intentionally dispersed into the atmosphere are one of the factors responsible for the degeneration of human health. These tiny toxins that we constantly inhale cannot be filtered out and degrade our health in the following ways. Aluminum: According to Dr. Russell Blaylock, when inhaled, nano-aluminum travels up the olfactory nerve and goes directly into the brain. Additionally any nano-aluminum in your bloodstream can cross the bloodbrain barrier. Once in the brain it causes excito-toxicity which is a factor in ALS, MS, Alzheimer’s, autism, dementia, listlessness, trembling, seizures, and kidney problems. Barium: Barium causes havoc by flushing potassium out of our bodies, upsetting the sodium- potassium balance, which can lead to these maladies: muscle weakness and paralysis (which can be the onset of MS); high blood pressure, arrhythmia, and

heart damage; change in nerve reflexes and brain swelling; breathing difficulties; stomach irritation, liver and kidney damage. Strontium: Another component of coal fly ash, radioactive strontium (Sr 90), is very hazardous to our health. It is taken up into our bones and soft tissues. Over time damage occurs such as anemia, lessened ability to absorb oxygen, tiredness, reduced ability for blood to clot, abnormal bleeding in intestines, and loss of white blood cells which weakens functioning of the immune system. Viruses, Fibers, Morgellons: Clifford Carnicom has confirmed the presence of viruses, bacteria, and fibers related to Morgellons, a condition characterized by oozing sores with emerging fibers that match fibers found in aerosol spray fallout.

Detoxing Heavy Metals Every breath increases the amount of these metals in our system, so eliminating them is critical. Since our body doesn’t recognize them, it parks them in organs and fat tissue until we offer ways they can be eliminated or chelated. Here are some of the ways. Deep colored vegetables, herbs and algae are extremely powerful chelators of chemicals and heavy metals. Cilantro, parsley, alfalfa, blue-green algae, and chlorella alkalize and purify the blood, making it easier for the body to rid itself of waste. Fasting with water, lemon juice or vegetable juices including kale, celery, cucumber, beet, carrot, lettuce, and ginger will flush the body of toxins. Along with fasting many people use colon cleansing to flush out the lower digestive system so the toxins don’t get reabsorbed. Drinking plenty of pure pH balanced water helps flush toxins from our cells. Sweating, either by exercising or using a sauna, speeds up removal of poisons. Getting plenty of sleep also helps your body to cleanse and regenerate itself. Proteins/amino acids from animals raised naturally work to improve

liver health and balance enzyme production. Brazil nuts restore selenium and zinc. Onions, garlic, eggs, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and cabbage contain sulfur, which helps to eliminate heavy metals. Food grade activated charcoal binds heavy metals in the intestines and escorts them from the body. Silica, in either liquid or tablet form, helps to chelate both aluminum and barium. Ways You Can Help Stop the Spraying Many people who have some understanding of the peril we face find it too overwhelming to engage in looking for solutions. Certainly any one of us raging alone against the continuous assault will have little effect on the problem. However, acting in concert, a few people can ignite an awareness and then develop a plan to bring these devastating programs to a halt. Observe, Investigate, Self Educate • Look Up! Observe the “clouds” over time. Are there white lines? Do they dissipate and disappear? Or do they spread out and eventually make a milky white sky? • Ask yourself if the clouds look natural or man-made.

THINK Beyond Your Genes Danger Is Real...Fear Is A Choice By Dr. Bruce Lipton

B

ut it all comes down to: “What do you fear?” In the current pandemic, are you concerned about a loss of income during the quarantine, or an inability to pay for needed healthcare at a medical center, or perhaps, for most, the ultimate fear is the vision of dying from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). My intention is to CALM the fears generated by the media continuously repeating that the “sky is falling.” So … here is my March Update on COVID-19. Firstly, “What is a virus?” A virus is neither a living or metabolizing organism, they are simply membrane-bound protein capsules containing genetic programs. As described in The Biology of Belief, a cell is the equivalent of a programmable computer chip, with the cell nucleus representing a hard drive containing gene programs. A virus is the equivalent of a computer flash drive (memory stick) downloaded with gene programs. When receptors on the viral membrane complement receptors on a target cell, the virus plugs into the cell and downloads its memory, the programs that hijack control of the infected cell. I have divided this update into 4 individual topics, followed by an assessment of the data and a list of Bruce’s “suggested” Best Practices. The topics are: A) The Coronavirus, B) Coronavirus Mortality, C) Hospital-Medical Relief, and D) Financial/Medical consequences during work layoffs. A) The Coronavirus The coronavirus historically causes a flu. The symptoms of a flu can range anywhere between generating an uncomfortable feeling to causing death. Flues come around every year in the cold season because the variety of respiratory viruses replicate faster in temperatures lower than body temperature (98.6oF or 37oC). Viruses thrive in the respiratory track in winter due to the breathing-in of colder air. Flu season is annual and generally the differences among the viruses each new season represent mutations (variations) of previous flu viruses. Human immune systems have dealt with variations of common flu viruses over centuries. The cross-reactivity of antigen sites (the parts of the virus that induces an immune response) on older and newer versions of the flu have preprimed the human immune systems to suppress the aggressiveness of newer flu mutations. And this is why the COVID-19 is problematic: This novel version of coronavirus-19 has antigenic characters that have not been previously experienced by human immune systems. Consequently, without any previous infections, almost all humans are susceptible to experience COVID-19. The biological novelty of this virus makes it quite infectious, and for some, a serious illness. The powers-to-be have seen fit to distance the novel COVID-19 as something other than a flu. The fact is, by definition, COVID-19 is a respiratory flu virus and as mentioned earlier, flues express a range of symptoms from unpleasantness to death. The mortality rate of conventional flues range between 0.1% to 1% of

32

www.lotusguide.com

the infected patients across the globe. The range of deaths is predicated on the nature of the flu virus and the health conditions of the public in each country. Recent years have seen some very virulent flues: MERS (mortality 3.5%), H1N1 (500,000 dead in 2009), SARS (mortality 10%). B) Coronavirus Mortality Annual flues in the United States are responsible for about 0.1% of flu-infected patients dying. The novelty of the current coronavirus-19, recently introduced to the human population, has so far, as of March 20th according to the CDC website: led to the deaths of 201 of the recently reported 15,219 COVID-19 cases in the U.S., a mortality rate of 1.4%. Globally, the coronavirus 2019 percent mortality has ranged from about 4% to less than 1%. CDC UPDATE as of April 13th: Total Cases: 554,849, Total Deaths: 21,942. (Deaths include both confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19). The COVID-19 mortality data is biased and massively stress-producing! The percent of victims dying from the COVID-19 flu is based upon the total number of patients dying divided by the total number of cases that have been tested by a doctor or a medical center. The problem with the math is that symptoms of tens of thousands of COVID-19 patients either did not warrant going to a doctor, or were unreported because they could not afford to go the doctor. The significance is until ALL the COVID-19 patients were counted and divided into the number of deaths, my belief is that the “death rate” would actually be less than 1%. As reported in my previous coronavirus assessment, and now supported by data from China, the majority of COVID-19 deaths have occurred among adults aged ≥60 years and among persons with serious underlying health conditions. The data is simple, COVID-19 deaths are primarily associated with the elderly and infirmed. If you are not part of that population, the vast majority of COVID-19 infected people will most likely not have serious symptoms. If you are a part of that population, there are ways to support your immune systems, see below. Most importantly, even those few that do end up with serious respiratory distress can be safely managed by medical teams. C) Hospital-Medical Relief I believe this is one of the main problems attributed to coronavirus disease 2019. As described above, the immunological novelty of this coronavirus means that almost all of the population is susceptible to this infection. The rate of disease spread is greater than any other flu, perhaps since the devastating flu epidemic that killed about 50 million people around the globe in 1918. The current problem with the medical system is 2-fold: 1: Annual flues send a very much smaller population to seek

medical attention. As a consequence, doctors and clinics can handle the low flow rate of patients and necessary supplies. But the infectious rate and, for many, the severity of COVID-19 symptoms, have sent droves of people to seek medical attention at the same time. The overwhelm experienced by medical staff and shortages of supplies is profoundly interfering with patients getting readily available relief for their symptoms. 2: The government is significantly responsible for the failure of our medical system to manage infected patients. Between dismissing the country’s governmental committee dealing with epidemics and reducing the budgets of the NIH and other healthrelated agencies, the medical community has been undermined and left profoundly short-handed by the current administration. 3: To deal with this major COVID-19 threat, it is vitally important to reduce the load on the healthcare system. This is the intention implied in “flatten the curve,” which simply means reduce the rate of infections through practices such as those suggested below. Financial/Medical Consequences of Quarantine At the current time the public is experiencing a rising cost of living while collecting stagnant wages. The consequence of the current work layoffs is economically staggering for those not receiving a paycheck. Simply, issues associated with threats to survival represent one of the most influential sources of stress. The economic stress combined that with the fact that a large portion of the population cannot afford healthcare is enough stress to inhibit the immune system and significantly exacerbate the spreading disease. As described in The Biology of Belief, stress hormones shut down the immune system when the body is in an adrenal-driven state of fight or flight. Stress hormones are so effective at inhibiting the immune system, surgeons therapeutically provide patients awaiting organ transplants with stress hormones so that their immune systems will not immediately reject the foreign tissue. It is a scientific fact that positive and negative thinking have a profound effect on the function of the immune system. One of the leading fronts in immunologic research is the field of Psychoneuroimmunology. Broken down into its root words: immunology is the body’s system that protects against internal infections. Neuro-immunology is the study of how the brain controls the immune system. Psycho-neuroimmunology is the science of how consciousness shapes the brain’s control of the immune system. Psychoneuroimmunology research clearly reveals that consciousness controls the function of the immune system. Positive consciousness is responsible for the Placebo Effect, wherein the mind can heal almost any disease, while stress and negative thinking create the Nocebo Effect, which can cause almost any disease. The fear of COVID-19 coupled with the resulting threats to survival profoundly inhibits the population’s immune system and further exacerbates the epidemic.

CONCLUSION: Many people who fall ill with the new COVID-19 disease will most likely experience mild, flu-like symptoms, fever, coughing and a sore throat, with over 80% of infected people having a mild to moderate illness that lasts about two weeks. The remaining 20% will have more severe symptoms that may need medical attention, but these symptoms can be relieved with proper treatment. The media’s emphasis on the COVID-19 death statistics is a mathematical bias whose stressful forecast is itself responsible for weakening the public’s immune systems and aggravating the spread of disease. The biggest problem facing the public in this epidemic is not the rate of mortality, it is the overwhelming stress on doctors, nurses and the medical system which is not prepared to deal with a massive epidemic. Is the COVID-19 epidemic to go on and on? The answer is clearly NO! As is evidenced by the almost complete cessation of new COVID-19 cases in China and South Korea, the epidemic will come to an end. Suggested Best Practices: To stay healthy there a few practices that will empower your immune system and lessen any COVID-19 symptoms. 1. Maintain a healthy lifestyle: Eat nutritious natural, organic food; take vitamins and supplements, especially large doses of Vitamin C; wash more frequently than normal, back away from the computer and move about (something I have to learn to do as well!). 2. Recognize that the vast majority of healthy people, below 65 years of age, are likely to have only mild COVID-19 symptoms. Those whose health is already compromised, and those who are elderly and receiving care are the most susceptible to severe illness. These individuals should take ALL proscribed cautions offered by the CDC. 3. Make every effort to de-stress! Sports, play, Nature walks, meditation exercises, be in Love, read a book, watch a movie. Basically, RELAX, for this will significantly enhance the function of your immune system and reduce the severity of any COVID-19 symptom. 4. You can help in “flattening the curve” to prevent overwhelming the medical system by taking care of yourself and supporting those in need in your community. Following the present governmental guidelines to stay home and physically distance from others will also help to not overwhelm the medical system. These are health-enhancing practices that will empower your immune system while helping others overcome their fears and infection. As with my previous message on the COVID-19 epidemic, there will be those that will thank me for these calming insights and there will be others who will chastise me for not taking this epidemic more seriously. For the latter group, I do take your perspective very seriously. Re-Evaluating Priorities During A Crisis

T

How to Stay Healthy

here’s so much to get into here but I’m going to stick to facts, not conjecture or theories; we have more than enough to deal with on our plates without entertaining all the conspiracies and peoples beliefs about what is going on even though some of it may be true. More about this on my podcast. I may occasionally give my opinion but when I do I will make that clear. For instance, do I think there’s more to this than we are being told? In my opinion…absolutely. But now is not the time to go into this, there’s too much on the line and we all need to start from the verifiable facts on what’s being called The Coronavirus or the Wuhan Virus. FACT: The virus itself is called Sars-CoV-2, the condition is called COVID-19 (CO means Corona, VI means Virus and 19 is the year 2019). So let’s start from here. There are far too many and complex website addresses to go to for more in depth information so this article along with links to trusted sources and selected videos will be at www.

LotusGuide.com/CoronaVirus, and remember that you can read our magazine online so tell your friends and family who may not want to go out and pick up a magazine that this is available ONLINE at www.LotusGuide.com. There are several points to bring up that, in my opinion, are important. One is the clarification that “Social Distancing” doesn’t mean “Social Isolation”. Keep in mind that isolation is what a society does to punish criminals and is the cause of a variety of psychological and emotional problems which no one needs right now. In fact, we need community and others more than ever. Fortunately, we live in a technological world making communication with others easy. Go for walks, hike in the woods, exercise or do yoga at home and when you need to go out to buy necessities like food, use caution. FACT: Maintain a safe distance from others, 6 feet. Remember that the virus can stay airborne for around 3 hours so going into a closed space, like an elevator for instance, where someone else

could have been is not a good idea, use the stairs. What can you do? There are several things you can do to strengthen your immune system. First thing to realize is “It Is What It Is” and the only thing you can do is decide how you are going to react to “It”. FACT: Staying active is crucial for not giving the virus a hospitable bio-environment to invade. FACT: Your body depends on getting a good night sleep to rejuvenate and do what it does best…heal itself and maintain a strong immune system. There are many preventative measures you can take. Vitamin C (ascorbate- based) 2000 to 3000 mg/day. I keep my electrolytes up by drinking coconut water available in most health food stores. Here’s an interesting side note, stores like Walmart and Winco are sometimes completely sold out of what most of us would call junk food, while health food stores have a good supply of organic and Non-GMO foods. OK, back to the task at hand. Most effective forms of ZINC (acetate is best)

we don’t do our part…well, let’s just say this is not as bad as it can get. No matter what, our already imperfect and over stressed healthcare system will become overrun and will need to make some deep and troubling decisions over the next few months. So when this virus is behind us, what do we need to think about? I think, in my opinion, the greatest danger will be to normalize our lives and the world with what was. Let’s face it, we’re being honest right, we’ve let some very unscrupulous and dangerous people rise to the level of corporations and government. This is an opportunity, maybe our last, to recognize this and start creating a new world and build economic and social systems that are more equitable for everyone. As difficult as your reality may be, imagine for a moment what it’s like to be homeless right now while at the same time there are individuals sitting in hundred million dollar mansions and cruising to their private islands on fifty million dollar yachts. This is not the world we should be living in and further more, putting the morality aside, it’s not sustainable for any of us…or them for that matter. So much more to say but editorial space is limited, so visit www. LotusGuide.com/CoronaVirus for more information and videos that are meant to help and at the same time support our spirits through this time. B.K.S. Iyengar ~ Yoga Master By Tom Hess B.K.S. Iyengar was born during the flu epidemic of 1918. He was born into a large, poor family from a small village in southern India, Bellur. He was a sickly young child and was unable to keep up with his peers in school, and was given little chance and little opportunity in his life. His chance to break from this limited life came when his sister married T. Krisnamacharya, a well-respected scholar and practitioner of yoga. Iyengar was asked to come to Mysore to take care of his sister when his brother-in-law went about the country giving yoga demonstrations. Iyengar was to take classes and adhere to a traditional Guru/Student relationship, which at this time was a very strict and demanding position for Iyengar to agree to, but he did so. BKS Iyengar’s life was difficult at the feet of his master. He was to help around the ashram as well as be a student and eventually a demonstrator of yoga for Krisnamacharya when they gave demonstrations promoting the yoga mala or yoga studio that Krishnamacharya had started. It was originally financed by the reigning Raj of Mysore who ruled the area. Then one day Krishnamacharya told Iyengar to go to Pune where there was a need for a yoga teacher. Iyengar eventually ended up staying in Pune and started his own teaching

to the local community. Krishnamacharya’s style of yoga was great for the younger and flexible bodies of the young men that Iyengar had studied with, but it didn’t work for the average middle-aged person seeking help from yoga. His first innovation was doing the standing poses with the back on the floor, and after this his creativity took off. This led to the use of props and slowing the practice down so people could experience each individual pose in a more reflective way. His innovative use of props has been able to bridge the gap between inflexible bodies and yoga. The other areas that Iyengar excelled in and clarified for the western mind is a deeper look at yoga philosophy through his translation of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the subtle body through his book Light on Pranayama. Iyengar had six children and two of them became yoga teachers under their father’s tutelage. Geeta Iyengar who was born in 1944 was an innovative yoga teacher in her own right. She authored a book called Yoga: A Gem for Women, which explained yoga’s benefits specifically for the Indian women that Geeta lived amongst and the many women that came to the institute in Pune. She was instrumental in translating her father’s understanding of yoga to the western mind. She was also credited with introducing a more effective way of teaching beginners the subject. Geeta was instrumental in spreading the Iyengar method. She passed away in 2018. Prashant Iyengar was born in 1949. He started out as a musician and became an innovative yoga teacher and author. He has written a number of books on the philosophy of yoga, and teaches yoga in a style that is totally unique and innovative. Prashant is the director and primary teacher at the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India. In 1974, BKS Iyengar opened the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in honor of his wife who had recently passed away. The institute is a thriving community of excellent yoga being taught in the Iyengar tradition. BKS Iyengar’s granddaughter, Abhijata, is one of the main teachers at the institute. In the tradition of her grandfather, she is an innovative and insightful yoga teacher. BKS Iyengar died in 2014 at the age of 95. He will be remembered as one of the great yoga masters of all time. ~ BKS Iyengar’s Bibliography ~ Light on Yoga, 1966, Light on Pranayama, 1981, Light on Ashtanga Yoga,2008, Art of Yoga, 1985 Tree of Yoga, 1988, Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, 1996 Yoga: The Path to Holistic Health, 2007, The Core of the Yoga Sutras, 2012, Yogamala Astadala Vol. 1-8, 2000 - 2008

WATER PROTECTOR ONLINE Tour 2020 “Organize, Strategize & Actualize”

By Michael DiMartino ~ Alliance for Resilient Communities Please check out the website for our full tour schedule, event announcements, and more general information on our LIVE Streaming because some of our planned events may be ONLINE, either way this subject is far too important for all of us. The Water Protector Tour 2020 is a yearlong series of events from Mount Shasta to the Bay area, focused on water safety and security in the Sacramento River watershed basin. The events range from smaller public forums and community roundtables to large festivals. These events will consist of speakers, hands-on workshops, films, and live music. The majority of these events will be live streamed on our website and Facebook page at www.waterprotectortour.org. The Water Protector Tour is a grassroots movement comprised of a coalition of individuals, organizations, members of indigenous communities, and decision makers on a local and regional level. All of these people are and have shown commitment to protecting the health and security of our water. This includes the following counties of Siskiyou, Shasta, Plumas, Butte, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento (including the Delta), and the East Bay. One of the important and most relevant aspects of the tour is that we are identifying a dozen issues that affect our water resources, offering practical and non-political solutions that anyone can implement. These issues range from environmental toxins like body care products and household cleaners to hazardous landscaping practices, outdated herbicide usage, and pest control. We will also be looking at issues like privatization and mismanagement and the effects of climate change, whether it be natural cycles or human made. This year alone, there is a significant decline in the Sierra snowpack that will profoundly affect the majority of California and its access to clean water. The tour began on March 15 at the oldest wildlife preserve in California in the gardens of Lake Merritt in Oakland, CA. That event focused on environmental toxins and their relationship to water, and the resulting impact on pollinators that provide us with our food security. We also looked at the importance of how to test our drinking water and how to become more aware of the health risks hiding within the water. Our next event was the ‘Dance for Water’ on March 21, the spring equinox, in Nevada City, followed by an event honoring the United Nations World Water Day. The focus was on the

spiritual and cultural aspects of water. This is a universal “Dance for Water” event, raising the mass consciousness and connectedness worldwide about clean water and its essential nature for life on earth. As we know, water contains a consciousness and a frequency that responds to our thoughts and energy body. This was discovered by Dr. Emoto years ago after many scientific research projects. We also know our bodies are over 60% water. Other large events will be WaterPalooza in the Sacramento River Delta on June 27, Earthstock in Pioneer Park, Nevada City, on August 15 & 16, and the Water Protector Festival in Mt Shasta City Park on September 26. All of these events will feature speakers, hands-on workshops, and live music ranging from native to folk and electronic dance. They will all be live streamed. In addition, we will be conducting many radio interviews throughout the region, and publishing articles in several magazines and newspapers. The coalition will also be publishing a quarterly Water Protector Magazine to launch in the Spring of 2020. This is a non-hierarchical grassroots movement. There is no one person or organization being paid or glorified to do this work. Be the change you want to see in the world, stand up and become an active part of creating a new, healthy and sustainable paradigm in our region and on planet earth. Please feel free to contact us for advisorship and consultations about your water-related issues and concerns. Everything from water testing and filters to groundwater regeneration, permaculture, and agricultural solutions. We also appreciate any donations and support you can offer in allowing us to be advocates for all of us and our children. The Water Protector Tour is produced by Golden Road productions in collaboration with the Alliance for Resilient Communities. end. Waves appear and rise, and then fall and disappear as they hit the shore or a riverbank. They provide a metaphor for life and death and the ups and downs of life. Yet regardless of what happens to the wave, water is always present. We as humans are awakening to the truth of being more like the water than the wave. As people wake up, Mother Earth heals. Global emissions of carbon dioxide and other pollutants are falling. Air quality in both China and Italy has significantly improved. The layer of pollution over large US cities like New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Seattle is lifting, and water is clearing in the normally polluted boat canals in Venice, as well as in rivers and oceans throughout the world. Earth’s resilience is apparent. Being alive right now gives us the opportunity to see the miracles that are possible when human behavior changes. We can change the future of this planet if we care enough. In short, hope abounds. So a few questions then naturally arise. How can we support and facilitate the awakening that is taking place? The pandemic will thankfully end, yet the transformation and healing of ourselves and Earth must continue. What can be done to ensure this?

The answer, in my view, has two parts. First, we can slow down, reduce consumption, and travel less by airplane and car. All of these steps promote the awakening and healing of ourselves and Mother Earth. This will protect not only air and water quality, as carbon dioxide emissions continue to decrease, but also the quality of our lives as we stop rushing and learn to enjoy the peace of the present moment. Quiet time for introspection, meditation and prayer helps to settle the mind, so that insights key to a positive future can arise. ‘Shelter in place’ lays the groundwork for a higher quality, thoughtful, meaningful existence that allows us to look deeply at our lives and our interactions with others and Earth. Second, Resonance Repatterning and other kinds of energy work can be used to heal and release barriers to awakening. Recent years have seen the advent of energy work methods that offer unprecedented levels of healing. Whatever is bothering us points us in the direction of our healing. What are you upset about? Are you sad, anxious, or afraid? Angry? Are your relationships difficult? Are you worried about money or your health? Do you have addictions? Whatever is bothering you can be addressed, and this can make a major difference in the quality of your life.

in their lives. As we are all one, working on ourselves as individuals is key to the shift in the collective consciousness. Healing ourselves, and facilitating our own awakening, translates to the healing and awakening of the collective consciousness. To bear witness to this awakening is fortunate beyond words. Indeed, it’s a great time to be alive.

Resonance Repatterning methods are based on the premise that our thoughts, both conscious and sub-conscious, have on our health, mental outlook, relationships, financial situations, and other daily life experiences. Sessions allow the client to release beliefs and difficult emotions, and even to create new memory imprints in place of traumatic or upsetting experiences. Every session is specific to the client. Muscle checking is used to identify methods and modalities most effective for both the client and the problem being worked on. Many modalities are possible including color therapy, tuning forks, cranial sacral, movement, acupressure, visualizations, and more. Clients leave feeling better and they notice the change in their thinking and
