Well if not, you are in for a TREAT I would say that the European fashionistas LOOOVE the Y2K vintage thrift vibes and want to express themselves through clothes and be unique

If you think about it the name Fash Trash comes from this unique vintage trend, Fash = Fashion, Trash = Vintage (someone's trash is another man's treasure) so always keep that in mind

I want to help you to find the best Vintage stores in Europe and also remember that sustainability is very important and by thrifting, we are definitely going in the right direction! The world needs to change, and we NEED to think about how we can do it!

Here are three very important steps to have in mind:

1 recycle Germany was the first country that made a law that you have to recycle your trash!

2 thrift! I mean you can thrift everything from clothes to furniture

3 keep your eye out for greenwashing and try not to buy from fast fashion brands

MISBRIGÐI

MISBRIÐGI

Misbrigði fashion show in Iceland is definitely the event you have to look into! It has been ongoing for 8 years and gets more interesting every year. This year the fashion show was held on the 3rd of November at Harpan and it was INCREDIBLE!

They teamed up with Red Cross which is a charity store in Iceland great for bargain if you need something new in your closet or at home The theme was to use unsaleable garments from Red Cross and design your own collection Every year the students on 2nd year at the Icelandic School of Art show their designs and this year we LOVED IT!

The idea behind the show this year is to recycle and be sustainable and it's incredible to see the designer making something old into a new wearable collection

Fast fashion is something that we have to be fearful of and we have to think about how we can stop it The short life of textiles and fashion today is very short so it's great to see the designer at the Icelandic school of art giving new life to old clothes and materials

M I S B R I G Ð I 7

Our favorite designer this year was Rubina Singh and she is definitely someone you need to keep an eye on her! She focused on elegance and effortless clothing but the thing that stood out was that her collection was made from bags!!

Rubina says that bags are definitely a key item and makes a look come together Rubina says that the thing that surprised her the most about working with the old garment is that the texture of the fabric is so different than when you go and buy a new one I mean have you ever tried to make something out of your moms' closet? We think that old fabrics have better quality so you should look into that! So next year put Misbrigði on your calendar and remember the name Rubina Singh she’s going to be big in this industry!!

Let's Stop Fast Fashion !

Why is fast fashion so bad? You get to be on trend in the cheapest possible way, how is that negative? We are here to tell you all about why and how YOU can change it! In the golden age going shopping was an occasional event where you’d dress up and enjoy the luxury but over the years something has changed Trends are changing so fast and people want to be on the trend train! Nowadays people go shopping for a hobby or retail therapy FOMO (“the fear of missing out”) is real and people don’t want to get left behind

Fast fashion is defined as cheap, trendy clothing that companies copy and paste from the newest trend they see on the catwalk or on celebrities They try to get the newest trends on the market as fast as possible while it’s still at the height of its their popularity

Shein, as you already know, is one of the biggest fast fashion brands in the world! Almost every day they release new items on their site and the quality isn't even good!! For these prices you can only imagine how cheap it is to make the garments the workers are paid and treated so poorly that they have literally screamed for help by printing “HELP ME” on the washing instructions!!! How crazy is that? This has to stop and is the reason we need to stop giving these fast fashion companies our money, it is absolutely not worth it just to look good in one picture for Instagram

These brands watch the fashion week runways closely and within a month they got the new, trendy clothes in their stores Where is the logic in that? This process is much longer than this, it doesn’t take a scientist to know that

F A S T F A S H I O N F A S T F A S I O N 11

Companies are in a such a hurry to get their trendy collections in stores that they don’t even care about the quality Toxic textile is increasing, and polyester is one of the most popular fabrics in the industry They even try to trick you into thinking that they are sustainable!! That is what we call Greenwashing

Now you are thinking “what is greenwashing”? Well, we can tell you that! Greenwashing is when fashion companies appear to be more sustainable than they really are Meaning they make false claims about their “sustainable” garments and are vague with the facts Companies like H&M, Zara, and Nike have been called out for their greenwashing

This is such a terrible development and we all need to be aware of it Now is the time to make a change We are the dictators of our future Lets all come together, be informed and make it happen!

AND WE AGREE!! His favourite pair of fashion items is obviously his Prada loafers, and we think that they make every outfit looks so fashionable Well,

“Prada baby”

If you could switch lives with one person for a day who would it be?

“I would choose Machine Gun Kelly to know what it feels like to be a rock star and if that makes you happy ”

Vintage or newness?

“It's the balance that counts 90% of my wardrobe is vintage and the rest are carefully selected pieces that are just nice you need an awareness of what clothing is and what feeling it should give you if you need a quick kick you go to Zara and buy a shirt, for example It's not really about the shirt, because if that were the case, you would first think about where you could buy shirts and therefore automatically go to second-hand shops until you found the one that makes you feel really good what I'm trying to say is, if you fall in love with a piece of clothing then the store doesn't matter The interesting thing is that true love is hard to find, and we would buy significantly less as a result ”

What’s a trend you would like to see disappear forever?

“I think everyone should do what they want ”

Your fashion icon?

“Art is a language Everyone can understand music, but speaking through fashion is a challenge in my opinion Alexander McQueen mastered this language and lived it with every drop of his blood ”

What’s your favorite season fashion-wise?

“Get your sunglasses out, it's summer ”

EX-Bottega Veneta Designer For 66°North

Toyoshima ex-Bottega Veneta men ’ s designer has joined the Icelandic outerwear brand 66°North If you don’t know 66°North yet let me tell you a little bit about it!

The brand was founded in 1926 and is getting bigger and bigger every year They specialize in outerwear which, obviously, is very IMPORTANT for Icelandic weather By opening new stores everywhere in the world the brand is gaining recognition more and more by the day and just opened a HUGES store in London

Toyoshima joins 66°North after over a year and a half as Bottega Veneta’s head designer, of ready-to-wear menswear He was hired to build the brand up as the next big ‘fancy thing’ in winterwear

As the competition is high as Canada Goose, The North Face, and Moncler are currently represented the top tier of technical fashion brands and 66°North is just steps away BUT what 66°North has is that they maintain a strong base of European manufacturers, including some factories owned by 66°North outright They have teamed up with a PR firm for the US and previously collaborated with the FAMOUS Danish fashion brand GANNI

I don’t know about you, but we are definitely keeping an eye on Toyoshima x 66°North and looking forward to watching them grow!

STREET STYLE

The Over Sized Jacket Is HOT

The streets of Barcelona have very fashionable people every day!! One of our team members went on the street to spot out the new trends and we FOUND IT!!

What stood out the most for us was the oversized jackets, fur (from coats to hats), and everything oversized from your jeans to jackets

Well, there is nothing new about the oversized jacket, but we think it will NEVER go out of style! In every thrift store, you can find the perfect oversized jacket!! What makes an oversized jacket so perfect is that you can layer it however you want As you can see one of our stylist girls is that she's wearing a blazer underneath her beautiful oversized coat! I mean talking about the ying to your yang

Then we have the ICONIC pilot jacket that we think is a must-have, every thrift store you go to I bet you will find the best-oversized pilot jacket out there!!

We also think that everyone needs a good Bomber jacket in their closet! Cool for winter and summer

Everything About The Fur !

Vintage fur jackets are one of the most beautiful things we know about! Things have changed over the years and now brands are stopping using fur and changing to faux fur and we LOVE that!! Animal cruelty is one of the worst things we know about and if the designer changes that is great We saw on the street that people were wearing both faux fur and real fur, but we can give a go that the real fur was worn by older women so we can bet it that is vintage or an heirloom It is just something so sexy about fur and you always

look rich wearing it!!

S T R E E T S T Y L E S T E T S T Y L E 41

Oversized EVERYTHING!

OVERSIZED EVERYTHING!

We saw it’s obvious that oversized jeans, tops, and jackets are something that everyone is wearing right now Styled with chunky boots or nice sneakers makes the outfit look AMAZING! We think that oversized and unisex clothes are so nice and fit everyone

Should Karl Lagerfeld Be The Theme For Met Gala?

He was outspoken and said “No one wants to see curvy women ” in an interview with Focus in 2009 He even had the audacity to say that Heidi Klum was “too heavy”, like have you seen her? She’s STUNNING!! He also said that Adele was “ a little too fat”, who wants everybody the same? Not us! We can see how people are not happy about this decision to have his name for the Met Gala even though he passed away in 2019

If you think that this is the only thing, well think again!!

Karl disapproved of the #MeToo movement In 2018 he said “If you don’t want your pants pulled about, don’t become a model! Join a nunnery, there’ll always be a place for you in the convent ” When it came to homosexuality, he told Vice in 2010 that he was against the idea of gay marriage even though he was a gay man himself

We want to hear your thoughts on this topic Are you in on or out on this Met Gala theme?

Send us your thoughts on this subject
