“Lino and Diabetes”AGD Italia and Team Novo Nordisk
The project “Lino and Diabetes” was launched with a view to integrate the common tools for sanitary edu- cation and let young people affected by diabetes see themselves as the protagonists of the book. The soft stuffed animal, with its bright coloured bands, is not just a toy but aims to be a tool to teach kids, in a fun and interactive way, in which areas of their bodies they should do the insulin shot. As parents, we have seen for ourselves how kids are affected by a situation that makes them feel the pain and stress of their whole fam- ilies and makes them think it’s their fault. Lino’s story aims to give an example of the thoughts that, most of the time, kids don’t really know how to express. In the story, the authors, thanks to their own experiences, show how it is possible to answer clearly, spontaneously and reassuringly even the toughest questions. Answers that come in words, but in actions too, building an intimate relation with the kid. Team Novo Nordisk supported the project with their experience and contribution both in sports and life in general.
