A book is like a team. There is a captain who refines the work, but behind it there is the hard work and support of many people. That’s why this book is such a group victory. It couldn’t have been done without the help of people like Federico, Alessandro, Marco and the whole Team Novo Nordisk, which continues in its pursuit of delivering such an important message.

This book wouldn’t have been the same without the stories of Andrea and Umberto, who, with their heart-felt words gave true soul to these pages. They, just like any other diabetic, go through their battles every day, and teach us how to deal with those difficulties and challenges.

Lastly, I want to thank cycling. A world that has now captured my whole life, giving me a different smile and a different emotion every time. A God-sent gift I am not going to waste.
