Getting Your Insurance License

Before you can get contracted with Asurea, you must have an insurance license.

Details Vary by State

The requirements for insurance licenses vary by state.

To get licensed, you will generally need

• To take a prelicense training course (see state-specific requirements)

• Be at least 18 years of age

• Pass your state required insurance test

• Pay the required licensing and testing fees

Here is a list of all states and their specific requirements. Click on your state to see the detailed requirements.

Studying and Test Prep with ExamFX

A popular service for studying and test preparation is through ExamFX. They have the basic material you need to know through self-study, online or in-person courses.

The Exam

Once you are done studying for the exam and have completed the required classroom time (in person or online), you can register to take the exam. Each state has different exam requirements. Check here for the details.

You Passed! Now What?

Once you pass your exam, please let your Sales Manager or Corporate Sales Suppor t Team know. Give them your State Insurance License Number and other required information, and you can start contracting with Asurea!

Local vs. Remote

Agents with a Local Office

Asurea has brick and mortar offices in over a dozen cities across the country (with more planned). Agents living in those areas have the benefit of support from their Local Office.

• Operate within the structure of their local office

• Work closely with other agents in their office

• Have direct access to their Sales Manager

• Receive comprehensive support from Asurea’s Corporate Office

• Have in-person mentorship and sales training

• Receive field Training

• Have access to full marketing and back-end office support

Agents working Remotely

Asurea also has agents working remotely in areas where there is no local Asurea office. Agents living in those areas have the benefit of full support from Asurea's corporate office.

Logging into Asurea’s Website

Before you can start contracting (your first step with Asurea), you need to log into Asurea’s website: asurea.com

To log into Asurea’s website, go to asurea.com Then click on the words ‘Log In’ in the upper-right corner of the page.

On the login page, enter the username and password you received in your 'Asurea Contracting Information' email.

Things to know about your Username and Password

• Your username and password will be used for asurea.com and activeAgency™

• You can opt to change your password after you log into asurea.com

• If you change your password, it will be changed for asurea.com and activeAgency™

◦ New passwords must be 8 characters, including: special symbols, capital letters and numbers.

Once you log into Asurea's website, you will be taken to the Agent Resource Center.

In the Agent Resource Center, you can start contracting, check your email, sign up for the training webinars, access activeAgency™, access your Asurea Profile, view the monthly Training Event Calendar, find sales tools like scripts and videos, find carrier promotional material, have access to carrier applications and forms, have access to the term quote engine, purchase Asurea merchandise (business cards, planner, shirts) and much more!

To access the Agent Resource Center, go to asurea.com. Then click Log In in the upper-right corner. Log in with your Asurea username and password.

Contracting Process

The first step to writing business with Asurea is to get contracted. We do all our contracting online, making it very simple. And, if you need to add additional carriers down the road, just send your Sales Manager or Corporate Sales Support Person a quick contracting request, and we will take care of the rest. Your information is saved for future use.

Just follow these simple steps

1. Sign and submit the Agent Agreement (located in your 'Asurea Contracting Information' email) to contracting@asurea.com or fax to 555-555-5555

2. Next log into Asurea’s website: asurea.com

• You can find your username and password in the 'Get Contracted with Asurea' email

3. Click on ‘Contracting Portal’ in the left-hand menu (you may need to scroll the list)

• If you are taken to your Asurea Profile, enter your DOB and TaxID/SS, click ‘Update Profile’

• If you are taken directly to the SureanceBay Contracting Portal, create your account and complete all steps

4. Complete all the requested information in the SureanceBay Contracting Portal

• Turn to page 08 for detailed instructions

5. Wait for a call or email from our Contracting Department to finish the contracting process

LIMRA/AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Training

AML training is needed for most carriers, and a refresher course is needed every one to two years. If you need AML training, click on the link below.

Get LIMRA/AML Training Here

To log into the LIMRA/AML Training Website

If you have previously completed LIMRA training in the past

• Click the 'Login Here' button under the “I am an existing user” section, log into your account, and complete any necessary LIMRA training to bring your certification status up to date.

If you have not previously competed LIMRA training

• Click the 'Register Here' button under the 'I am a new user' section

• Under Step 1, enter the requested identifying information (NPN – National Producer Number)

• Under Step 2, select ANY NAILBA member

• Under Step 3, select/check off Americo Financial, Assurity Life Insurance Co., and Mutual of Omaha from the selection list

• Click the 'Next' button

• Complete Steps 4, 5 and 6

• Click the 'Login' button

• Complete the AML Base Course and any Company Pages shown .
