1.PFC_PROFESSIONAL TRAINING CENTER AND STUDENTS RESIDENCE, SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY In 2015 I decided to go to northern Argentina, to a province where there is a lot of poverty. I was looking for a landscape and I found a story.

That province and its people lived for the mountains. The jujeño’s abrupt relief determines the personality and character of its inhabitants, making them strong against adversity.I realized that their way of life was moving around long journeys looking for services and obligations, but without neglecting a great rooting to their hometowns and their families.

In this case, the land has an enormous magnitude, with an impressive abandoned appearance. When you get into it, it seems to penetrate a non-place, a vacuum.

At the same time, the surrounding mass is like a black hole: it is rarely to find objetcs that focus so much matter in themselves, as in the scattered constructions located along the adjacent street axle.

¡4¡ 1.PFC_PROFESSIONAL TRAINING CENTER AND STUDENTS RESIDENCE, SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY permeate the element The building has two main aspects: receiver, the point where guest are welcome and hosted; and the mentor, instructor aspect of the center that guides the guest through the nooks of knowledge it offers.

To receive, the building leaves its privacy and looks out to call people, boxes stand for this purpose.

The visitor uses the interstices of pavements prepared as transition element, as a filter between the arrival, casual and slight bow, and penetrating in the center, go into the matter and approach the area designated for the transmission of knowledge.

This area takes a more intimate philosophy and is buried with containment of wisdom. Spaces prepared for reflection and moments and places in where overlook the world to obtain the necessary illumination.

2. ARI-ZONE, VICENTE CALDERON STADIUM The volume of waste generated by construction in Madrid has dropped dramatically after the crisis of 2008.

Following the forecasts previous to this date, waste generation should be prowling the 6.200.000 tons per year; however, current estimation does not reach 3.900.000 tons.

To reduce costs of transport by establishing a recycling plant as close as possible to the city center was one of the project guidelines.

VICENTE CALDERON STADIUM, MADRID recycling the construction of madrid Through underground subway lines (main artery line 5, as the nearest station), and taking advantage of non-used hours (2-6am), wagons are thougth to be used for the transport of the wasted material collected during the day.

Pirámide Station is 650 meters away from Calderon stadium, where the route would be carried by truck.

3. SERPETINE PAVILION, HIDE PARK. LONDON filtering the environment The project stems from the idea of movement and the effects it produces. Many artists and architects throughout history have worked on this concept, adapting reality in order to enhance the distortion of space that gives us the movement.

A phenomenological experience that is capable to turn our gaze from inside to outside is pursued.

3. SERPETINE PAVILION, HIDE PARK. LONDON filtering the environment From the beginning I have tried to build a place where walking was the necessary tool for filtering light but especially the environment, with different frames set by the solids and voids that different overlapping frames granted.

However, that environment does not disappear along the line, it simply blurs, letting penetrate masses, leading us to an intermediate point between opaque and transparent so as we move forward.

4.RESEARCH LABORATORY, EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY OF MADRID The main idea of the proposal is the provision of an exterior green new space that can be lived and enjoyed, creating a small self-sufficient ecosystem, on a new relief, that also provides drinking water needed to cover all campus demand.

This will be done through a system of phytodepuration, with the water received from the lake between buildings B and C.

4.RESEARCH LABORATORY, EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY OF MADRID The burial condition makes the envelope be rather opaque, and may give comfort problems inside. For example, hygrometric issue is one of the drawbacks due to difficulties such ventilate spaces and natural soil moisture.

Traditionally, it was resolved by opening holes or placing chimneys on the roof. Using this type of chimneys is effective for kitchen smoke or heating systems, but have worse functioning for air exchange systems, as it takes at least two ventilation holes so a natural draft by pressure differences can be established among them.
