POSITIONINGS / POSITIONIERUNGEN 2012 / 2013 MIRA LOEW

We were making notes on our proximity. To occupy a space was an ongoing possibility. We were moving. Navigating so we could understand. Holding ourselves in space.

Does a space know that it is becoming important as it becomes important? There were zones of action, of exchange. Of silence. An ongoing exercising in practicing our positions. Practicing what it meant to perform as a non-performer. Positioning ourselves in relation. To ourselves. To not ourselves. To these spaces. A charismatic space. If charisma is a space filling quality, how does a space become charismatic? Practicing how to be there.

Meaning was not an inherent or static property of things and we were remembering the future as it approached us, trying on our possibilities as we discarded them.

We drew new lines of possibility. Trying to be present in all our potential futures. An attempt to occupy our unoccupiable positions. The ongoing possibilities. When we were contemporary with our time. As we came to terms with our own time. Our position in this present. That singular relationship. I am thinking about the past again. About making a time as it made a future. Moving a future from a past. How time multiplies, continues, beginning & ending. Time is clear & is unclear. & I do not always know where to put myself within it. How to position inevitability. As we collect occupiable positions, give them to each other. There are zones of action, of exchange. Of silence. We are making rules about what we are doing. Confusing the interiority of our exteriority. Does that changing how we stand where we stood. The spaces are we within. What spaces do we make when we make spaces. What do these spaces make of us?

It was a party and we were moving between the lines we had made important, we were the interior of a game about a poetics we hadn’t read yet. We were playing at our own artmaking. Making a work within the making of it.

& I had an idea & you remembered to have it again, so we could all have this idea.
