Welcome

As you know, safety is CEMEX's top priority and these types of initiatives have been designed to ensure the well-being of our team members.

It is important to be proud to be in a company that has the necessary tools to make these moments of truth possible.

All we have to do is make the most of them so that when people are exposed to risk they remember what their leader told them.

04

Introduction MOT

Within our most important pillar, Health and Safety, as of September 2022 we have had very important advances and achievements.

In terms of industrial safety, we are achieving a year with no fatalities and a reduction of recordable incidents (TRI) of 18.0% compared to the same period in 2021. This, thanks to the consolidation of preventive initiatives such as the concept of "Moments of Truth" in security, creating an innovation team, which has been building the concept and its approach and, with it, define strategies that influence the correct decision making; this concept and its application has been disseminated and reinforced to all operational leaders in the annual meetings of Health and Safety organized by CEMEX.

Staying attentive

By staying focused & ignoring distractions you will be safer, being present and aware, and saves lives.

The driving academy is one initiative that introduces defensive driving, help drivers to build focus and it increases awareness on the prohibiting of the use of a cellular phone while driving

Defensive driving tips that can help save lives:

Look ahead and keep distance. Have an escape plan. Reduce your speed. Don't drive in blind spot. Avoid constantly changing of lanes.

Defensive driving train drivers into getting into the habit of slowing down as the conditions change. Not speeding and going slow gives drivers extra time to take corrective actions or respond to sudden changes. Slowing down can decrease the impact and accidents altogether.

#2 Am I fit (Conditions) to go to service?

#3 Do I react correctly to distractions?

20

First MOT

Is my vehicle in condition to go to service?

Are you carrying out your vehicle inspections?

Scheduling timely maintenances and carrying out pre- trip inspections are important. The vehicle checklist is a tool used to aid in vehicle inspections.

By performing your checklist, if the vehicle meets the minimum requirements of the operational checklist the driver can go to service. If not, the vehicle is not suitable to go out on a trip and that is a moment of truth. The checklist confronts drivers with the true status of their vehicle.

21

Drivers, it is important to do your checklist and carry out your 360 inspection. These initiatives on your behalf will save your life and the lives of others.

22

Second MOT

Am I fit (Conditions) to go to service?

Are you fit to make your trip?

Drivers, your wellness is important to us. It is important that you get adequate rest and stay hydrated. The fatigue testing will help to assess how fit you are to carry out your duties. It is also important not exceed 12 hours of driving policy. Driving tired can lead to road accidents.

23

Third MOT

Do I react correctly to distractions?

How do you respond to distraction?

If your boss, wife or child calls when you driving, would you pick up?

Being present and aware will save your life. Avoid all distractions including the use of tell cell phones while driving. The driving Academy helps to sensitize drivers to prohibit the use of a cellular phone when the phone rings also engaging in distraction management trainings can help you to avoid distractions and stay focus while driving.
