The $50,000 FORPARK Australia F3 Scholarship. The Forpark Australia F3 Scholarship is an internal promotion scholarship within the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship. It represents the most substantial driver funding program in Australian Open Wheel racing and is designed to progress the careers of young drivers in ‘Wings and slicks Racing’ in Australia. The Forpark Australia F3 Scholarship is worth $50,000. How does it work? The Forpark Australia F3 Scholarship is awarded to a driver competing in the Formula 3 National Class, for eligible 2002-2007 specification Formula 3 Vehicles. The Scholarship winner is not necessarily the outright winner of the National Class. Instead, the Scholarship Winner is selected by a judging panel of industry experts who judge not just outright performance or success – but all aspects of a drivers makeup including engineering, media & presentation skills, attitude and more. The Scholarship winner receives $50,000 in funding (spread across the balance of the championship rounds) towards their budget for the outright / Gold Star championship in 2015, with a professional team.

What is the F3 National Class? The F3 National Class represents a more cost effective entry point into F3 Racing yet offers close competition and its own championship point score, alongside drivers scoring Gold Star Championship Points to benchmark themselves against the outright contenders. A majority of professional teams competing within the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship enter cars in the National Class as well as the championship. The National class will be held at 8 rounds of the 2014 championship – visit www.formula3.com.au for full championship schedules. Am I eligible to enter? The only criteria to being eligible for the Forpark Australia F3 Scholarship is that you be competing in the National Class of the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship, be under the age of 25, have not competed in Formula 3 or an equivalent ‘wings and slicks’ formula previously and, have nominated with Formula 3 Management. How do I enter?

Who has won it before? Steel Guiliana (2011/12) – Won the Scholarship for his performances in the 2011 season and progressed to the Outright Championship in 2012/13. Hayden Cooper (2012/13) – Won the scholarship for his performances in the 2012 National Class and progressed to the outright championship in 2013.

For information about joining the championship (including all additional information regarding calendars, exposure, etc) or nominating for the scholarship – or for further information in general – please contact Richard Craill at richard.craill@formula3.com.au
