Rising Star - Danielle David

To say that Danielle David is a rising star in the central Mississippi real estate scene would come as no surprise to those who know her lineage. She is the oldest daughter of Roddy and Michele Rumbley. Danielle grew up learning real estate lingo from working in the office of the family business, Roddy Rumbley Real Estate.
After graduating from Madison Central in 2010, Danielle graduated from Ole Miss in 2014 where she met her future husband, Joe David. Joe is from Nashville and he was a member of the Ole Miss golf team. The couple married in 2017.

Danielle earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Ole Miss. She then taught for two years in Mississippi before moving to Nashville where she taught middle school for an additional five years. “Teaching in Nashville was so special for me because I taught at the same school my husband attended when he was growing up.” Life was good, with Joe working for Music City Autoplex and Danielle teaching middle school.
The pandemic hit Nashville hard and changed the trajectory of the couple’s careers. “Teaching middle schoolers over Zoom was incredibly challenging and made me question if I wanted to continue my career as a teacher,” says Danielle. “My parents have always encouraged me to join our family business.” The pandemic changed a lot of things for Joe and Danielle, so in 2021 the couple moved to Madison.

Danielle went to the Mississippi REALTOR® Institute classes in the Spring of 2021 and received her license in June. She immediately joined the local, state, and national associations of REALTORS®. “My parents have always instilled in me the importance of being a REALTOR® and not just a licensed agent. REALTORS® follow a strict code of ethics and are held to a higher standard”, explains Danielle. She closed on her first sale at the end of July 2021. “It was such a great feeling to put into practice everything that I had learned and I knew I had made the right decision.”

Danielle closed twenty-four transactions by the end of 2022, and she was ecstatic. Because of this achievement, Danielle was eligible to earn her Accredited Buyer’s Representative designation (A.B.R.) in 2022. In February 2023, Danielle earned her Broker’s license. “I wanted to follow in my parents’ footsteps – they both have their Broker’s license. Continuing education is very important to us because my mom and I are both former teachers. Earning my Broker’s license was one of the hardest, but most honorable, achievements to date.”

One of the most surprising things for Danielle when she got into real estate was how much she loved it. “I have such a heart for teaching, and now I have been able to use those skills differently, by teaching people how to buy a house.”

While teaching in Nashville, Danielle says she was required to communicate with each student’s parents every two weeks. “I thought at first it would be excessive, but it turned out to be such a good thing and I was able to build such strong relationships with each of my students and their parents.” Danielle believes that communication is the key to a smooth transaction. She communicates well with her clients from the house-hunting stage to closing. “Being proactive truly makes all the difference.”

The relationship part of the business also appeals to her. Danielle says she gets close to her clients and maintains a relationship with them long after closing. “I love to see pictures of their new homes and hear about their families.” In time, Danielle hopes to have the same experience as her mother. “My mom has been in this business for twenty-eight years, and almost all of her clients are repeat clients or the children of her past clients. It’s such a compliment that they all come back to her. My mom is the cream of the crop. Real estate is her passion and she really cares about people. My goal is to be as good as her, both in real estate and as a person. I couldn’t be in this business without her.”

Joe and Danielle have one daughter, Tyler Olivia David, who is a kindergartener at Christ Covenant School. While Joe still enjoys playing golf, tennis is Danielle’s game. “I played when I was younger, including playing on the Madison Central tennis team.” Both Roddy and Michele have always loved tennis, and Danielle says she and her sister grew up playing with them. “I was happy to find a big tennis community here when we moved back. Tennis is great exercise and it is a sport that my entire family, including my daughter, can play together.”
Danielle continues to pursue her passion in real estate all across the Metro Area. She also spends her time as an ambassador for the Gluckstadt Business Alliance. For up-to-date real estate information, you may follow her on Instagram @danielledavid.realtor.
