The more than 200 lots of Murano glass on offer at this year's September auction are particularly impressive because of their consistently high quality. A wide variety of designs by top-class artists lead the field. Around 1950, Fulvio Bianconi designed the first 'Pezzato' vases for Venini, a technique that required a special feel for colour and composition. The works of fused platelets are one of the most famous designs of the manufactory. Six vases are represented in this auction, ranging from the classics made of green, blue, red and colourless glass (estimated prices between 3,000 and 5,000 EUR) to elaborately crafted bottle vases (estimated prices 9,000 - 14,000 EUR
