Cmdr. Robert Orion Kent (1919-2008) When he returned home, he was separated from the US Naval Service on December 23, 1945 and transferred to the US Naval Reserve. He was based out of the Naval Air Station in Grosse Ile, Michigan. His last catapult in the reserves was on August 13, 1949 on USS Cabot flying with a F6F Hellcat. He was promoted in the US Naval Reserve on December 2, 1948 to a rank of Lieutenant Commander.
