line up for lap of the action TOWNSVILLE’S movers and shakers weren’t the only ones enjoying the Supercars action in corporate facilities with a glass of Moet, with some of the state’s leaders making a pitstop in the North. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk k visited Reid Park yesterday on her way to Cairns ahead of this week’s Cabinet meetings. The Premier was treated to a grid walk yesterday afternoon with a number of colleagues including Transport and Energy Minister Mark Bailey, Minister Assisting the Premier Coralee O’Rourke, Thuringowa MP Aaron Harper, Townsville MP Scott Stewart and Mayor Jenny Hill. Ms Palaszczuk proved to be just as popular as the Supercars drivers. Local media were kept waiting for more than two hours for a scheduled chat with the Premier, who they were told was held up by fans in the crowd wanting to get selfies. Townsville City Council chief executive officer Adele Young was seen suited up in racing attire before being taken for a hot lap around the Reid Park track. Cowboys coach Paul Green, players Kyle Feldt and Antonio Winterstein were also treated to a lap. The big disappointment was the no-show of Virgin Australia’s founder Richard Branson. He was rumoured to be in town to catch a race

in the championship his company sponsors but was not sighted.
