COMPANY One of the world’s largest manufacturers of protective helmets for motorcyclists arrives with its SMK range, a collection that is already complete, but one which will continue to grow in coming years, with increasingly innovative and technologically advanced products that are safe and aesthetically captivating. SMK helmets are conceptualized and designed in Europe, before being produced by Studds, a company based in Faridabad, India that produces almost five million helmets annually (Fiscal 2018), destined for markets across the world. Studds boasts of two factories that handle all necessary production processes. From the moulding of shells and components, to painting and assembly, not forgetting the cutting-edge laboratories in which SMK helmets are tested in accordance with international homologations. Our manufacturing facilities have a complete production cycle that allows for rigid quality control at every stage of production until delivery. Style & Safety, this is the SMK slogan, combining Italian design with Studds’ 35 years of knowhow in the production of helmets for all motorcyclists.

AZIENDA Uno dei maggiori produttori al mondo di caschi protettivi per motociclisti arriva con la sua gamma SMK, una collezione che è già completa, ma che continuerà a crescere nei prossimi anni, con prodotti sempre più innovativi e tecnologicamente avanzati che sono sicuri ed esteticamente accattivanti. I caschi SMK sono concettualizzati e progettati in Europa, prima di essere prodotti da Studds, una società con sede a Faridabad, in India, che produce quasi cinque milioni di caschi all’anno (Fiscal 2018), destinati ai mercati di tutto il mondo. Studds vanta due stabilimenti che gestiscono tutti i processi produttivi necessari. Dallo stampaggio delle calotte e dei componenti, alla verniciatura e al montaggio, senza dimenticare i laboratori all’avanguardia in cui i caschi SMK sono testati in conformità con le omologazioni internazionali. COLLECTION In the 2019 SMK collection, every motorcyclist can find the helmet that best suits not only his/her bike but also his/her personal style. The flip-up GLIDE, equipped with double jet and full-face homologation, is practical and functional. The HYBRID is every motorcyclist’s dream, a fullface and jet helmet in one. Thanks to its removable chin piece, HYBRID, which has double jet and full-face homologation, is a true helmet for all seasons. The full-face helmets are represented by the TWISTER helmet for tourist use, from
FORCE and FORCE Steel to those who want the comfort of a tourer helmet with a racing soul, from STELLAR young helmet with an aggressive line, and ELDORADO helmet with clear vintage appeal. The range of jet helmets includes five models that are characterised by their superior fit and are able to satisfy the growing demand for open helmets, comfortable, fashionable and in a variety of styles and a wide range of colours.

COLLEZIONE Nella collezione SMK 2019, ogni motociclista può trovare il casco che meglio si adatta non solo alla sua moto ma anche al suo stile personale. Il casco apribile Glide, dotato di doppia omologazione P/J, è pratico e funzionale. L’HYBRID è il sogno di ogni motociclista, nello stesso prodotto un casco integrale ed un casco jet. Grazie alla sua mentoniera smontabile, l’HYBRID è un vero casco per tutte le stagioni. I caschi integrali sono rappresentati dal TWISTER casco per
uso turistico, dal FORCE e FORCE Steel destinato a chi vuole il le comodità di un casco tourer con un anima racing, dallo STELLAR casco giovane con una linea aggressiva, e del casco ELDORADO dal chiaro richiamo vintage. La gamma dei caschi jet comprende sei modelli caratterizzati dal loro confort superior, che sono in grado di soddisfare la crescente domanda di caschi aperti, comfortevoli, alla moda e in una varietà di stili e di una vasta gamma di colori.

SAFETY The first and foremost target inspiring every single product by the SMK. This concept is placed before all other considerations, be they aesthetic, technical and economic. An internal laboratory, ensures that regulatory compliance testing is carried out. The helmets are then sent to external laboratories for approval. Finally, line production can start. In addition, the internal laboratory accredited by VCA of England, oversees and guarantees all checks on materials, products and production processes, using destructive tests on random samples to ensure constant quality.
ITALIAN DESIGN The conception of new models with more and more sophisticated designs, along with proper management of the development and design processes, are the most essential and sensitive aspects in the activities of SMK. For this reason, in our Research and Development division the traditional hand moulding techniques, which are still in use, are accompanied by more advanced computer-aided design techniques. Such techniques are used to improve the various steps within a project, beginning with the preliminary stages, subject to the Company marketing strategy, through design and engineering, to the manufacturing process. All this is coordinated by qualified staff, mostly trained within the Company, whose task is to devise products that stand out; innovation, practicality and high-tech features guaranteeing to provide sublime comfort and a perfect fit.

SICUREZZA È il primo ed il più importante obiettivo che ispira ogni singolo prodotto della SMK. Questo concetto viene posto prima di tutte le altre considerazioni, siano esse estetiche, tecniche ed economiche. Un laboratorio interno assicura la realizzazione dei test di conformità alle normative. Infine, la produzione di serie può iniziare. Inoltre, il laboratorio interno accreditato da VCA in Inghilterra, controlla e garantisce tutti i controlli sui materiali, sui prodotti ei processi produttivi, utilizzando prove distruttive su campioni casuali per garantire una qualità costante.
DESIGN ITALIANO La concezione di nuovi modelli con disegni sempre più sofisticati, insieme alla corretta gestione dei processi di sviluppo e progettazione, sono gli aspetti più essenziali e sensibili delle attività di SMK. Per questa ragione, nella nostra Divisione Ricerca e Sviluppo, le tecniche di modellazione manuale, sono accompagnate da tecniche avanzate di progettazione con computer. Tali tecniche vengono utilizzate per migliorare le varie fasi di un progetto, a partire dalle tappe preliminari, soggette alla strategia di marketing della Società, attraverso la progettazione e l’ingegneria, al processo produttivo. Tutto questo è coordinato da personale qualificato, prevalentemente formato all’interno della Società, il cui compito è inventare prodotti che si distinguono; innovazione, praticità e funzionalità high-tech che garantiscano un comfort superior ed una perfetta vestibilità.

Their structure and protective capacity are altered in high-energy impacts. Beside their energy-absorption capability, their volume and weight are also important issues, since higher volume and weight increase the injury risk for the user’s head and neck.
