WEEK 3 READING: TITLE OF READING

Question 1: What is Pictorial Space according to Le Corbusier? (Maximum 100 words) According to Le Corbusier, the pictorial Space is the space which can not be entered, or circulated through; it is irremediably space viewed from a distance, and is therefore eternally resigned to frontality.

Question 2: The Flatness of Le Corbusier’s painting’s are attributable to two properties. What are they? And what are these pitted against?(Maximum 100 words) There are two major properties of le Corbusier. Firstly, Le Corbusier never use edges to present the turning surface of the object. Secondly, the depth cannot be showed by the black and the dark colour.

1ST MARIO’S WORLD

The first step is transform the flat world from flatness to projection, the drawing was finished on the base of 200*200. Because the basic workld is simple, the basic hills are shown on the base.

COMBINED MARIO’S WORLD

After finishing the basic two worlds, the clould, underground part and the hidden tubes and cubes are added into the world. Also It shows the world is on a pice of hill, and the section of the hill is full of tubes. The hidden cubes are also added in to the world.

Question 1: Explain the difference between Pictoral (in this case perspectival) space and Projection? (Maximum 100 words) The Pictoral space have an end point of the view, which means the lines will cross and disappear in a point. However, the Projection does not have the end point, the lines will not disappear and there is no limation of the end.

Question 2: Where did Axonometric projection first arise, and why? (Maximum 100 words) The Axonometric first arise in year 1925, beacuse the finite world and space is no longer popular among the world. people started to find a new way to present the world, which cannot be seen by human eyes. As a result, the Axonometric, which shows the infinite, arised.

ILLUSTRATED MARIO’S NEW WORLD

The colour of the world is filled into the graph, and more details are added and removed from the world. The colourful tubes are added in order to reduce the monotony of the colour. One of the tubes is removed because I want to leave more soace infront of the world, to present the feeling of steps.
