COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Community Connections CRAFT CORNER DIY FLOWER CROWN CRAFT Embrace the floral magic of Spring with our DIY Flower Crown craft! Let your imagination bloom and share your flowery creations with us by tagging @wehorec in your photos!

Materials needed: n Floral wire or a flexible branch n Wire cutters n Assorted flowers (real or artificial) n Scissors

n Floral tape n Ribbon or twine n Greenery (optional)

Steps: 1. Start by measuring the floral wire or flexible branch around your head. Leave some extra length to allow for adjustments and securing the ends. Cut the wire using wire cutters. 2. Form the wire into a circle, adjusting it to fit comfortably on your head. Secure the ends by twisting them together or using floral tape to create a circular base for your flower crown. 3. Trim the stems of your flowers, leaving about 1-2 inches. If you're using artificial flowers, you may need to remove the plastic stems. Also, prepare any greenery you want to include. 4. Begin attaching the flowers to the wire base using floral tape. Start at one end and work your way around, slightly overlapping each flower. You can mix and match different flowers and greenery for a varied and colorful look. 5. As you add each flower, wrap floral tape tightly around the stem and the wire base to hold it in place. Continue this process until you've covered the entire wire base with flowers and greenery. 6. If you want to add a decorative element or secure the flower crown further, you can attach ribbon or twine. Tie it at the back of the flower crown, and you can leave the ends trailing for a whimsical touch. 7. Once you've attached all the flowers and secured them with floral tape, try on the flower crown and make any necessary adjustments. Trim excess wire or tape as needed. 8. Now you have a beautiful flower crown ready to wear for special occasions, festivals, or just to add a touch of nature to your day!

WEBREAK WEEBREAKERS Our “WeeBreakers” breakdance classes are designed to help preschoolers become familiar with dancing! We teach our WeeBreakers simple movements that are age appropriate, so they can start expressing themselves through breakdancing. In our curriculum, we go through three parts of breaking: 1. Top Rocking = dancing standing up 2. Footwork = dancing on the ground 3. Freezing = poses done at the end of a breakdance set, done on the ground or standing Breakdancing is a great way for your child to express creativity, through both their movements and what they wear! In addition to the early movements, we also teach the kids to encourage one another, follow directions, left foot, right foot, listening skills, balance, coordination, rhythm, timing, and teamwork!
