two very different worlds. Will he remain with the pack or return to the human world? The Man in the Moon provides locally based drama workshops for children aged five to eighteen years old. They offer young people the opportunity to be part of a theatre company that produces and performs classic productions in a real life theatre. Since 1990, The Man in the Moon has produced over 40 captivating productions at The Electric Theatre, with casts that have included thousands of young people from around the Guildford area. SHACKLETON’S CAT Wednesday 4th April, 4pm. Shackleton’s Cat comes to Guildford in 2018, as part of ETO’s awardwinning strand of operas for young people. The opera features nine performers, including singers and players, and tells the story of the voyage and destruction of the Endurance 100 years ago, and the subsequent tale of survival against all odds. The opera features an ingenious set, with maps and images from the expedition, interactive songs, a puppet cat, and comprehensive resources for teachers, compiled in partnership with the Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge. Curriculum topics include music, drama, geography, science, literacy and maths. The opera lasts just over an hour and is created for children aged 7-11 and their families. Tickets: £10.30
