Locust Shade is an ideal location for family cookouts, company picnics, or any gathering of friends and neighbors. The park offers a variety of pavilions and picnic areas that can be used on a first come, first served basis or with reservations available. We have pavilions ranging in size from small to large for an intimate family picnic to groups of 300.

Bank fishing is available at our 8-acre pond all year, weather permitting. There are native largemouth bass and bluegill. The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fish stocks channel catfish in the spring & trout between November and April.
