Various careers drive the economic stability of localities, counties, states, regions, nation, as well as the global economy. Workforce preparation and exploring career pathways can begin in elementary school. The Career Clusters provide essential knowledge and skills needed in sixteen broad areas. They are grouped by technical skills, interests, common traits, occupations, and industries based on the National Career Cluster Framework and the United States Department of Labor. Youth and individuals pursuing careers may use this as a guide in exploring job categories, interests, skill set and their passion for obtaining rewarding occupations. By researching these clusters, youth, adults and families are empowering themselves for improved success in school, college, current and future careers. Decide which cluster is best suited for your abilities and interest.
Some may find career interests in several clusters: The production, processing, marketing, distribution, financing, and development of agricultural commodities and resources including food, fiber, wood products, natural resources, horticulture, and other plant and animal products/resources.
Designing, producing, exhibiting, performing, writing, and publishing multimedia content including visual and performing arts and design, journalism, and entertainment services.
Creating, designing, sketching, planning, building, maintaining, and managing built environments.
Careers in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating business functions essential to efficient and productive business operations.
Planning, managing and providing education and training services, and related learning support services. Planning, services for financial and investment planning, banking, insurance, and business financial management. Planning, managing and performing marketing activities to reach organizational objectives. Planning, managing and providing scientific research and professional and technical services (physical science, social science, engineering) including laboratory and testing services, and research and development services. Planning, management, and movement of people, materials, and goods by road, pipeline, air, rail and water and related professional support services such as transportation infrastructure planning and management, logistics services, mobile equipment and facility maintenance.
