HOW DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR CAREER PATH?
I always knew i wanted to work with my hands and own my own business. I owe everything to my parents for suggesting my career path. My mother was a hairstylist for a short period of time and my father a ship builder, so I’m going to assume that a lot of my traits and mindset came from them, hard work mixed with friends and family was just an everyday thing around our family home. It was my father who had suggested I take on a hairstyling career (it probably had a lot to do with me being so particular on how my hair looked way back in the day) and so I enrolled into cosmetology. Since that day I have never looked back. I love challenging myself to excel, from being an award winning stylist, multiple business salon awards and giving back to the community and helping those in need . My career keeps advancing with my latest development of Amado True Professional Hair Care and having my first award winning line of products along with numerous magazine publications. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t thank God for blessing me with my hands to create and my mind to develop and continuously improve and giving this world a little something more.
WHAT IS YOUR SECRET TO STAYING HUNGRY FOR SUCCESS?
There are so many factors in creating a business and brand, but at the end of the day, it’s the people that stand behind me that constantly keeps me striving for success. Having my fingers on the pulse of the future of the AMADO brand and being able to develop Amado True Professional Hair Care was success in itself. Having naturally derived ingredients, being able to make hair products vegan friendly, cruelty free and made in Canada was a must for making a better product for everyone I know and so many Canadians across the country. It’s always about the next step and making sure everything falls into place. Being able to get my hands into it and making sure that the products are not only healthy and beneficial but also being able to have the performance to deliver. It always keeps me wanting more and keeping those little secret ingredients alive in order to making sure it’s a success!

ON THOSE TOUGH DAYS, WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO GET UP AND START YOUR DAY?
My family is definitely a huge part of what keeps me going and plays a huge part in my day to day but also, I’ve always concentrated on building relationships and friendships with people to understand their needs and wants, to make them look and feel their best. It’s the “what more” in the to day that motivates and kickstart’s my day, watching each day unfold into the evolution of what tomorrow may bring. If I can put a smile on someones face then my tough day no longer exists.
WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL OR FAVOURITE MOTTO?
It’s really quite simple. My focus and vision has always been about giving something more. It’s everything that I’ve always believed in. I am a self-made hairstylist, entrepreneur and hair product, brand developer and there hasn’t been a day where I don’t think about “How can I make this world a better place?”
My personal motto is this .... the best way to predict the future is to create it...and that’s what makes Amado.
