NAME A PERSON OR PEOPLE, PAST OR PRESENT, WHOM YOU ADMIRE OR LOOK UP TO AND SHARE WHY.
I admire and look up to quite a few people. Obviously, I admire my mother, but my artist friends Like Katsumi Kimoto who is an amazing painter and gave me my first gallery experience, and Melvin Yap, an incredible photographer who is always giving me advice and inspiration. My artist aunt Liz Mantle who paints and rocks out in her punk band “The Shit Talkers”.
I look up to artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat for his rise to becoming one of the greatest contributors to art. Andy Warhol, who popularized the use of art as a reflection of society and as social commentary.
WHO HELPED YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY?
My mother was always encouraging and supportive throughout my upbringing. She was always making us our Halloween costumes from scratch. I’ve had a lot of people in my life help me get to where I am today. They initially made me who I am, but it wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for my own perseverance and determination to make it happen.
WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL OR FAVOURITE MOTTO?
“A mess to success”
~ Liz Mantle

HOW DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR CAREER PATH?
I feel like this path chose me. I have been creative since a very young age. I was always in the top of my art classes in school. It just always felt natural to me, and I enjoy making art. I’ve picked up a lot of skills along the way like drawing, graphic design, screen printing, and painting. It’s helped me through a lot of tough times and it’s a part of me and who I am.
