International Programs Broaden PVM Horizons As part of the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine’s strategic goal to provide all students the opportunity for a global experience, 42 Purdue veterinary students traveled internationally to 13 countries in 2011, and the College hosted visitors from Japan, the Czech Republic, Ghana, Ukraine, Brazil, France, and Taiwan. Since 1995, Purdue Veterinary Medicine has enjoyed a partnership with its sister institution, Kitasato University School of Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Towada-shi, Japan. This year was particularly rewarding as the two institutions exchanged students as well as faculty for the first time. In August, seven Japanese veterinary students, accompanied by their faculty advisor, Dr. Takahiro Taoda, began a two week stay at Purdue.
