A Festival of Tennis & Fun Kudos to the Tennis Sections at both Clubs for pulling off the best get-together of the year. Cleverly themed “Criss Cross and Cheers”, 300+ players and supporters from the RBSC and the RBSC Polo Club mingled over a full day of friendly matches, meals, and hugely entertaining stage performances. The players and their families even donned striped sports and casualwear on and off court to show the spirit of oneness between the two Clubs. Youngsters got in on the act between 9am-1pm, when 70 youth players from the Clubs engaged in fun-filled games followed by prize giving and lunch. From 3pm onwards, over 100 adult members from both Tennis Sections tested their
mettle in a mish-mash of impromptu doubles and mixed-aged matches. No scores were kept and the atmosphere was social and amiable throughout – just as the organizers intended. A fantastic day of tennis and fun ended on a high-note with post-match activities at the RBSC’s Henri Dunant’s Hall. The “We are Family” themed gala further highlighted the easy camaraderie between both Tennis Sections and their supporters. The evening featured a delectable buffet dinner, the presentation of trophy prizes to the winners of the Grass Courts Tennis Tournament 2016, and highly anticipated RBSC’s Got Talent performances.
