INFRARED RAYS While traveling through Tennessee and California, Michelle Larkin, owner of Unit 8 Infrared Sauna Studio, stumbled upon an infrared sauna and found it improved her “overall health and well-being.” Larkin’s extensive background in healthcare guided her to “start [her own] business to help others in our community,” and thus, Unit 8 was created! Customers can enjoy a 45-minute session in a private sauna suite while enjoying Pandora or Netflix. Those of us looking to relax even more can visit the licensed massage therapist, Stacey Allgood-Smith, of Allgood Therapeutic Massage in the same building. She’s not the only one to notice the theraputic nature of featured on various television programs, including Oprah with Dr. Oz, The Doctors, and the Ellen Show. Infrared saunas are also supported by the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and the National Autism Association.
