Cracking Easter events for everyone

Looking for a festive way to celebrate Easter with the family? Here’s your guide to the most eggcellent events happening locally...

Canons Ashby has a wonderful nature trail for youngsters with plenty of fun for everyone to enjoy along the route.

Before you start, you’ll need to pick up your activity pack to find the bespoke trail that you are going to follow and then you’ll need to find and complete the 10 nature-inspired activities that are waiting to be discovered along the way.

‘Spot the signs of spring’, ‘Wibble and wobble’ and ‘Wake the wild things’ are some of the activities waiting to be experienced at Canons Ashby.

When you’ve completed your trail, you can collect your Rainforest Alliance chocolate egg or an allergen-free alternative. Yummy, fun times.

The trails and prizes will be available while stocks last, and the event runs from Good Friday to Easter Monday (April 15-18), 10am4pm each day. The trail costs £3. nationaltrust.org.uk/canons-ashby

Stanwick Lakes have extended their Easter egg trail which will now be inviting you to hunt for chocolatey treats through the whole of the Easter holidays (April 2-18). Hop in the motor and make tracks to the 750 acre countryside attraction and nature reserve any day between 9am and 4pm to try your luck.

Abington Park Museum is offering a special Easter trail from Wednesday, April 13 to Sunday, April 17, between 1pm and 5pm daily. There is no need to pre-book for the family friendly event – simply drop in at a time to suit you. Every child will go home with an egg. northamptonmuseums.com

The Bruce Green Foundation is inviting families to an egg hunt around the garden and grounds of Winwick Hall on Saturday, April 16.

Choose a team name, collect your Detective Pack and solve the clues for a yummy treat. It can be thirsty work discovering the eggs, so why not visit the Polo Pavilion Tea Room for refreshments? They will be serving between 10am and 2pm.

The hunt will run between 9.30am and 12.30pm.

The hunt will be on at Milton Keynes Museum this Easter when the search for hidden eggs begins – and they lead the way to yummy chocolate rewards.

It is a cracking way to celebrate the festive period – and the egg hunt ensures everyone wins something. And if you find the exceedingly rare red eggs, you’ll get a bumper amount of chocolate treats, so keep your eyes peeled!

The eggs will be dotted around inside Milton Keynes Museum and around the grounds, ensuring a fantastic time for everyone as they enjoy a wonderful tour of the history hub along the way.

The Museum is also inviting visitors to get stuck into some Easter themed craft activities.
