It was a unique event and Milton Keynes celebrated accordingly; with street parties, parades and lots and lots of bunting! Here’s a little look back at four very special days when we celebrated HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee...

Newport Pagnell celebrated the
Platinum Jubilee with a huge vintage event which took over the town – and included a superb flypast from a Lancaster.
Pics: Sammy Jones The splendid sight of the beacon illumination in Campbell Park – one of around 3000 beacons that were lit at 9.45pm on Thursday, June 2 in a fiery night that lit up the country.




Despite all of the festivities, HM could still be found ‘hanging around’ in Wolverton – look at this colourful creation.
Check out this wonderful royal procession, and then look again! It’s actually a model of HM the Queen’s horse-drawn carriage, as created by members of the Milton Keynes Model Railway Society – proof that small is beautiful! James Woodley from the MKMRS said the jubilee decorations were the work of a handful of members, and took a month to complete.

This fantastic jubilee mural was unveiled at Portfields Primary School in Newport Pagnell Street parties and events were held across Milton Keynes, and of course sweet treats were on the menu; HM adorned the cake in Great Linford, while at MK Museum the biscuits were the crowning glory!
