PARQUE RECREATIVO
El Parque Tamatán consolidado como un sitio turístico y de esparcimiento para las familias victorenses y aquellas que visitan la ciudad, a lo largo del tiempo se ha convertido en uno de los íconos más representativos de Cd. Victoria. Este parque al que se le llamó Tamatán que en idioma huasteco significa “lugar de canoas” o “lugar donde hay agua” cuenta con un lago artificial en el cual podrá rentar lanchas de pedales, hermosos y amplios jardines, juegos infantiles y una fuente con chorros de agua que sirve para refrescarse y como diversión para los pequeños. En 1921 en este sitio existía un tanque de almacenamiento que fue usado como alberca cuya propiedad fue adquirida por el gobierno estatal en 1944 creándose el Patronato Pro-Albercas y Jardines de Tamatán con el fin de construir un parque recreativo. En 1963 su administración quedó a cargo del gobierno quien realizó mejoras e incluyó el paseo en tren y una pista de patinaje siendo en 1999 cuando se aprobó el proyecto para su remodelación para convertir el parque y el zoológico en un centro de re-creación, conservación, educación e investigación, obras que se concluyeron en 2003.
Tamatán Park consolidated as a touristic and recreational place for the families of Victoria and others that visit the city, over time it has become one of the most representative icons in town. This park which was given the name of Tamatán that in huastec language means “canoe place” or “place where there is water” has an artificial lake where it’s possible to rent paddle boats, it also has beautiful and wide gardens, playgrounds and a water jet fountain that works to cool off and to amuse the little ones. In 1921, on this site there was a storage tank that was used as pool, whose property was acquired by the State government in 1944 creating Tamatán Pro-Albercas and Gardens Board with the purpose of building a recreational park. In 1963, its administration was left in charge of the government who made improvements and included the train ride and a skating rink. It was in 1999, when the remodeling project was approved in order to transform the park and zoo in a recreational, conservation, education and research center, works that were concluded in 2003.
