Juárez or Constitution Square
Located right in the center of Ciudad Victoria, Constitución or Juárez Plaza is used as a frame for some of the most outstanding buildings of the city like the State Hall, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Tamaulipas Cultural Center and the Casino Victorense. The story of this square dates back to July 1898, in this place the bust of Don Benito Juárez donated by the Lieutenant Colonel Don Manuel González son was unveiled, and it is considered the first sculpture made of bronze in Tamaulipas. In July 1949, when the order to demolish the old Juárez Theater in order to build the New Government Palace was given, the bust of Juárez was relocated to San Carlos.

Ubicada en pleno centro de Ciudad Victoria, la Plaza de la Constitución o Plaza Juárez, sirve de marco para algunos de los inmuebles más relevantes de la ciudad como son el Palacio de Gobierno, la Catedral del Sagrado Corazón, el Centro Cultural Tamaulipas y el Casino Victorense. La historia de esta plaza se remonta a julio de 1898 cuando se devela en este sitio el busto de Don Benito Juárez donado por el Tte. Coronel Don Manuel González Hijo, siendo ésta considerada como la primera escultura de bronce erigida en Tamaulipas. En julio de 1949 al ordenarse la demolición del antiguo Teatro Juárez para construir el Nuevo Palacio de Gobierno el busto de Juárez se trasladó a San Carlos, Tamaulipas.
