The port of Altamira has a privileged geographic location with large land reserves as it forms part of the Industrial Complex of Altamira making it an important window for foreign trade thanks to the port-industry integration, which allows the import of raw materials on a large scale and the distribution of finished goods with attractive logistics costs. Currently, it has a draft depth of 40 feet and 17 berthing ongoing operations, with a potential for 90 berths of 300m. To this date 12 Marine Terminals operate here, in 2014 they had a total goods movement of 16,053, 384 tons and 1,538 ships arrived in port. The company Dragados Offshore, which is dedicated in the construction of offshore platforms, is currently under construction. Among the advantages of this port are: a greater inventory control, an agile and 24-hour fast custom clearance, quick and easy crossings and placement of goods, elimination of delays and storage, compatibility with IMMEX as well as transfer goods from one company to another. The Port of Altamira is the first one in Mexico to have a Strategic Fiscal Precint that allows its clients to conduct storage, distribution, value addition, and manufacturing processes with great tax benefits. This port is the number one in our country regarding the export of fluids and fourth in the export and import of containers. The movement of export is concentrated in South American and European countries, mainly chemical products of the Industrial Port Complex plants. The import cargoes are integrated mostly by petrochemical fluids from North America and natural gas and minerals from South America.
PUERTO DE ALTAMIRA El Puerto de Altamira cuenta con una privilegiada ubicación geográfica y grandes reservas territoriales al formar parte del Complejo Industrial de Altamira lo cual lo convierte en una importante ventana al comercio exterior gracias a la integración puerto-industria, que permite la importación de materias primas a gran escala y distribución de los productos terminados con atractivos costos logísticos. Actualmente tiene un calado de 40 pies y 17 operaciones de atraque en operación, contando con un potencial para 90 posiciones de atraque de 300 metros. A la fecha operan aquí 12 Terminales Marítimas teniendo en 2014 un movimiento total de mercancías de 16,053,384 toneladas y 1,538 buques arribados. Actualmente se encuentra en proceso de construcción, la empresa Dragados Offshore, la cual se dedica a la construcción de plataformas marinas. Entre las ventajas con las que cuenta este puerto están un mayor control de inventarios, despacho aduanero ágil y rápido las 24 horas, rapidez y facilidad en cruces e internación de mercancías, eliminación de demoras y almacenajes, compatibilidad con IMMEX así como el poder transferir las mercancías de una empresa a otra. El Puerto de Altamira es el primero en México en contar con un Recinto Fiscalizado Estratégico que permite a sus clientes realizar almacenamiento, distribución, adición de valor y procesos de manufactura con amplios beneficios fiscales. Este puerto es el número uno del país en cuanto a la exportación de fluidos y cuarto en la exportación e importación de contenedores. El movimiento de exportación se concentra en países de Sudamérica y Europa, principalmente productos químicos de las plantas del Complejo Industrial Portuario. Las cargas de importación, son integradas en su mayoría por fluidos petroquímicos provenientes de Norteamérica y gas natural y minerales de América del Sur.
