industria En el municipio de Altamira se encuentra uno de los complejos industriales petroquímicos más importantes del país, único en su tipo al estar conformado por el Corredor Petroquímico, el Parque Industrial y el Puerto de Altamira. El Parque Industrial cuenta con un área de 4,000 hectáreas que rodean el recinto portuario, su estratégica planeación permite la importación de materias primas a gran escala y la distribución nacional e internacional de los productos terminados con atractivos costos logísticos a través del Puerto de Altamira, excelente opción para los inversionistas que buscan hacer más eficientes sus procesos de producción. Altamira Tamaulipas, está considerado el productor más importante de resinas plásticas de México al manufacturar más de 2 millones de toneladas anuales, representando el 70% de la capacidad de producción instalada del país. De igual forma en este Complejo Industrial se genera el 30% de producción privada de químicos y petroquímicos estando entre los principales productos el dióxido de titanio (pigmento blanco), policloruro de vinilo (PVC), ácido terfaláctico (TPA), polietileno polietileno tereftalato (PET), carboncilla y dimetil tereftálico. El 100% de la producción de hule sintético para consumo nacional o para exportación se origina en Altamira, es por ello que este corredor es conocido como el Clúster Petroquímico más grande de México. De igual forma aquí se ubican otras industrias dedicadas al sector del acero, plástico, textil y fabricación de papel. Para poder cumplir con los requisitos energéticos de sus inversionistas, en el Complejo Industrial Portuario de Altamira actualmente se encuentran operando dos importantes empresas en tres plantas generadoras de electricidad, produciendo en conjunto más de 2,500 MW/hr.
In Altamira is one of the most important petrochemical industrial complex in the country, unique on its kind while being composed by the Petrochemical Corridor, the Industrial Park and Altamira Port. The Industrial Park has an area of 4,000 hectares that surround the port precinct. Its strategic planning allows full scale import of raw materials and the national and international distribution of the finished products with appealing logistic costs along Altamira Port, an excellent option for investors that seek to improve their production processes. Altamira Tamaulipas is considered the most important producer of plastic resins in Mexico because it fabricates more than 2 million tons annually, representing the 70% of the production capacity installed in the country. Likewise inside this Industrial Complex is generated the 30% of private production of chemicals and petrochemicals being among the main producers of titanium dioxide (white pigment), vinyl polychloride (PVC), terephtalic acid (TPA), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), charcoal and dimetil terephthalate. In Altamira is originated the 100% of the synthetic rubber production for national consumption or for exportation, that’s why this corridor is known as the biggest Petrochemical Cluster in Mexico. In the same way there are other industries in charge of steel, plastic, textile and paper manufacturing sector. In order to accomplish the energetic requirements of its investors in the Industrial Port Complex of Altamira two important companies are working on three power generation plants producing more than 2,500 MW/h.
