COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES This qualification is designed to give you the essential knowledge to assist you to provide advanced therapeutic skills within a clinical setting. All units within this qualification are mandatory. Units in this qualification have been mapped to the relevant NOS (where available).

COURSE CONTENT: This qualification will enable you to further develop your knowledge of additional oils and their therapeutic uses and the theories and practices for advanced massage applications of prescriptive massage, aromatherapy and reflexology.

Evidence in the portfolio may take the following forms:

TRAINING SCHEDULE: There will be some home study before your attendance at the centre for delivery of the theory knowledge and practical skills. Once competence has been reached, you will attend the final assessments of theory knowledge and practical skills. ASSESSMENT: Assessment of practical skills will be at the training centre or designated workplace. Continuous assessment by means of written work, assignments and home practice will contribute to your portfolio of evidence. A learning plan with dates for assessment will be agreed by you and your tutor on enrolment. As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format. Your assessor will provide guidance on how to prepare the

All evidence should be documented in the portfolio & cross-referenced to unit outcomes. Constructing the portfolio of evidence should not be left to the end of the course. Many frequently asked questions & other useful information are detailed in the VTCT Candidate’s Handbook, which is available on the VTCT website. Other questions should be addressed to the tutor, lecturer or assessor. PROGRESSION: Working in the Healthcare sector or as an Advanced Practitioner in Aromatherapy, Reflexology or Massage Therapy.

COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES LEVEL 4 DIPLOMA COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES The VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Complementary Therapies qualification will provide a progression route with advanced technical skills for a Level 3 Complementary Therapist.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible for registration on this qualification, it is a requirement that you are a qualified complementary therapist holding a Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Complementary Therapies. Anatomy and physiology knowledge at Level 3 or equivalent is also a mandatory requirement.
