instruments of making This project tasked us with an analysis of the composition, workings, and forms of a handheld appliance. Because its design is efficient with minimal extraneous parts – it was drawn closer to how we look at spaces and assign to them function and meaning, and avoid redundancy in the process. My object was a hand-crank beater, with the major moving parts being the handle, wheel and beaters. I drew a focus to these in my composition, while also retaining major driving lines of geometry for all drawings digital and hand-drawn. 18
