American workers have been quitting their jobs in record numbers in a pandemic trend known as the “Great Resignation.’’ The number of quits by employees totaled 4.2 million in October, down from a record 4.4 million a month earlier, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. “Everybody is short; it doesn’t matter what business you’re in,’’ said Steve Rodermond, owner of Rody’s Tavern in northwest Greensboro. “You can talk to everybody who comes here and they’ll tell you they don’t have enough workers.’’
