The Beginning Stretching Guidelines UÊ Perform each stretch slowly, holding at a point where the stretch is felt but is never painful. UÊ Avoid stretches that involve twisting or turning the joint out of its natural alignment. UÊ Hold each stretch for 10 seconds (any longer and the players may start to lose focus). UÊ Do not bounce or move around during the stretch UÊ Perform one or two stretches at a time towards the end of ‘The Beginning’, then move onto another activity. This will keep the players moving.
