RESEARCHER PROF. DR. SC. NEJC ŠARAABON AND INNOVATOR Prof. Dr. Sc. Nejc Šarabon is an influential figure in innovation development in the field of measurement technologies for sports and rehabilitation. Nejc has his background in physical therapy and sport science which he upgraded with the doctoral and post-doc projects on the fields of motor control and motor behaviour using primarily electrophysiological and biomechanical diagnostic approaches. His primary research interests include balance, sensory-motor integration processes, kinaesthesia, and inter-muscular coordination. Within these areas he is continuously active in the fields of methodological and technical innovations. Nejc has mainly been involved in the research and development activities related to balance and fall prevention and also alterations of sensory-motor integration processing during different acute and chronic injuries/interventions. For several years he’s been a science-to-practice consultant for strength training, conditioning, prevention and rehabilitation at national associations of karate, handball, basketball, and tennis.
WEDNESDAY | ELITE THEATRE 7 | 12.00 - 12.45 GRF Measurements – Bringing Biomechanical Science Into Sports And Physiotherapy Practice. Ground reaction force (GRF) is the propeller of human locomotion, a controlled variable in postural tasks. For decades GRF measurements, using force plates, have been a fundamental part of movement biomechanics. Today, together with a user friendly measurement, analysis, and reporting software, this technology has become an indispensable diagnostic tool for evidence based sports performance, prevention, and rehabilitation practice. An analysis of the different groups of GRF tests will be presented.

WEDNESDAY | COPA THEATRE 4 13.00 - 13.45 The CHEK Totem Pole – A Holistic Approach To Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation The CHEK Totem Pole represents a hierarchy of control systems in the human body and can be used in strategizing patient assessments. The most important survival reflexes are located high on the Totem Pole, becoming progressively less important as we move to the base. This integrated approach helps the therapist to prioritize treatments by identifying the primary musculoskeletal, hormonal and/or mental-emotional concerns, thus saving time, optimizing efficiency, and speeding recovery.
