Closing Prayer & Remarks Mrs. DeShuan Mills
Erika Winter Music Specialist
As the Music Director and Producer of the Lower School Christmas Program, I would like to welcome you to our presentation this evening. Our Lower School is blessed to provide an array of opportunities for young children to learn to sing, play instruments, dance, and perform on stage.
We are honored to usher you into the spirit of Christmas season this evening. A special thank you to our administration and staff for your support of our programs at Providence. I would also like to thank Ms. Veronique Johnson, pianist, for her musical enhancement during the performance of Stallion Sound, as well as the rhythm section from Mr. Maerkl’s band, accompanying the choir.
In addition, I’d like to thank Mrs. DeShuan Mills for her unwavering support, the fearless Resource Team members Traci Kilby and Lindsey Sanders, and our great Theatrical Providence Seniors for their assistance with the Christmas Program. I could not have accomplished it without them. I hope you enjoy your evening. My prayer is that the actual meaning of Christmas is not lost in the hustle and bustle of the season, and that Christ is the center of your home during the holidays. Let us make room in our hearts for Jesus this Christmas. Merry Christmas!
Erika Winter
STALLIONSOUND
This marks StallionSound’s third year in concert. Our ensemble, the 5th Grade Exploratory Choir, is presenting its second performance as a choral group this year. We have taken on more challenging repertoire, including pieces with two-part harmony, which is a significant accomplishment for this age group. Additionally, we are performing the high school level piece “Go Tell It On The Mountain,” which features complex rhythms. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all teachers and parents for their cooperation with the transitions from the Village classrooms to the upstairs choir room, as well as with concert attire. The students look outstanding! They will also perform at the Iceman Game on January 25th at 3:00 p.m. and our Grandparents Day program on March 6, 2026.

The Providence School 5th Grade Exploratory Band meets two days a week during the school day and is a great way to get an early start learning a wind or percussion instrument. This year we have many talented students in our group, and there is no doubt that they have bright musical futures as we continue to grow the band program in quantity and quality. Celebrating his 11th year as the Band Director at Providence, Jonathan Maerkl is grateful for the dedication of his band students and band families. Together, under his leadership, the Providence band has built an award-winning program. The program has grown to consistently receiving Superior ratings in Concert and Jazz Band, setting school records! Additionally, the Wind Ensemble has performed at State Concert MPA for the past two year, receiving A’s and B’s for an Excellent Ratings. To God Be the Glory!
Our 2025 Stallion Brigade Marching Band took home third place in class 1A at the Tocoi Creek FFCC Competition and earned a Superior Rating FBA Marching MPA for the fourth time in school history—and third year in a row! We have also had numerous individual band students earn Superior Ratings on solos at FBA District Solo & Ensemble MPA and FBA State Solo & Ensemble MPA. Besides that, we have had many students audition and earn spots in the Duval/ Nassau Honor Bands and the FBA All-State Bands. These are the kinds of accomplishments that we can continue to look forward to from our young instrumental musicians as they grow and God blesses our efforts.
Mr. Maerkl is excited to continue to build the band program at Providence School by providing students access to the best quality instruments, music, and instruction. Mr. Maerkl has a strong focus on individual musicianship, knowing that if each individual is strong then it is easier to have a great band, and that individual musicianship is the aspect of music education that gives students the most access to continued performances and scholarships after high school.
— HIS COMPANY
The mission of His Company is to learn to worship God through the art of dance and to lead others to worship and glorify Him in spirit and in truth. His Company provides a unique opportunity for 4th and 5th grade girls to combine creative movement, ballet, and hip/hop with Christian music and Christ-centered values. Our members work very hard and strive to be great dancers as well as young girls that represent Christ. We look forward to sharing our Christmas piece with you this evening.
