*THE DEPI veterinarians are seeking sheep brains to be tested as part of the National transmissible spongiform enephalopathies (TSEs) surveillance program. The brains will be used to test for proof of freedom from TSE and livestock producers who supply them are eligible for payments of $100 each. To be eligible, sheep need to be 18 months of age or more (but not more than five years) and display at least two clinical signs compatible with â€˜scrapieâ€™ â€“ the form of TSEs seen in sheep.
