Familiar Faces, New Roles

As we head into the 2020-2021 school year, we're excited to announce some significant personnel changes.

MR. BRANDON LINCOLN has been named the next Athletic Director of Providence High School, providing overall leadership of the athletic department. For the last three years, Coach Lincoln served PHS as an assistant athletic director, physical education teacher, and head boys' varsity basketball coach. Coach Lincoln’s basketball teams at Providence have enjoyed success the past three years, including back-to-back Prep League titles and back-to-back CIF State and Southern Section tournament appearances. In 2019, Lincoln was named the CIF Southern Section Division IV Coach of the Year.

MR. JUAN LOPEZ, formerly the Technology Focus Program Assistant and teacher, has been named Interim Director of the Technology Focus Program for the 2020-2021 school year. Mr. Lopez joined the Technology Focus Program in 2016 to support the evolving needs and goals of the program.

MRS. JUDY EGAN UMECK '75 has moved from her longtime role as Director of Admissions to becoming Providence High School’s first Director of Mission Integration

and Adult Formation. A long-term institutional goal of Providence High School has been to create a pastoral position to oversee the faith life of our adult community. This position aligns with roles designated within other ministries of Providence St. Joseph Health. Mrs. Umeck's new role will include developing programs to deepen our understanding of the history and spirituality of the Sisters of Providence, coordinate periodic annual events including Foundress Week, missioning ceremonies and other events as related to the Sisters of Providence, and actively support our campus ministry events, and much more.

This transition for Mrs. Umeck leads to some updates in the Admissions Department. In July, the department was renamed the Admissions and Enrollment Management Department. MR. SCOTT TURNER, previously the Associate Director of Admissions, has taken on the role of Interim Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management. Mr Turner joined Providence in 2018 and is supporting our enrollment and retention efforts.
