1959 CAROL LEX TANNER ’59 lives in a beautiful retirement community in South Orange County and is busier than ever before, [mostly having] lots of fun!

1960’s SUSAN DAY LACKA '60 – “I’m sheltering at home in Pasadena, since I'm a ‘senior’ and apparently more at risk for Covid-19. Been through anger, frustration, and anxiety learning to cope. But I'm fine now, cleaning out cupboards, drawers, etc. I'm looking forward to stores and restaurants reopening and businesses recovering. Hope you all are well. God Bless!”

RUTH DEMARCO MCGOVERN '60 has been married for 55 years with three sons, nine grandchildren, and one greatgrandson. She still sees her friends from Providence and loves them all!

1970’s BEATRIX CHRISTINE BLANS-DUGGAN '71 is a retired Nurse Practitioner with 13 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. She lives in Follansbee, WV with her husband, Michael.

KARLA HOKR CARLSEN '72 retired in July 2019 and is grandma to Levi Ratekin, age three, and Connor Ratekin, age four months.

DIANA PEEBLER '76 is a Senior Environmental Scientist with CalEPA's Department of Toxic Substances Control where she supervises staff engaged in the management of hazardous waste in CA. She's been at the Department since 1987. Diana and her husband, Timothy Naprawa, have been married for 26 years and have two children, 20 and 17. Daughter is a junior at Saint Mary's in Moraga and son is entering his senior year at California High School in San Ramon. 1980’s STEPHEN MISIURAK '81 moved back home to Gibsons, Canada in 2018 where he works as a Registered Civil Engineer for the Sunshine Coast Regional District as a Capital Projects Manager.

1990’s JASMINE BOCZ '98 is the lead editor on DuckTales at TVA animation. She is married to MORGAN SAMUEL '99.

2000’s ANGELA MASTANTUONO '01 is currently a Catholic Elementary School Principal at Saint Anthony's in San Gabriel serving grades preschool-eighth and has been in education for the past 16 years.

MICHAEL L. VOGELSANG, JR. '01 is a Principal at The Employment Law Group law firm, where he has worked since 2007. He frequently handles cases that involve whistleblower retaliation, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and other workplace claims. In 2019, Super Lawyers recognized him as a “Rising Star.” Michael received his law degree from the American University, Washington College of Law and is a member of the Virginia State Bar and D.C. Bar. He graduated summa cum laude from the American University’s School of International Service, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies. He spent a semester abroad studying Latin American culture and language in Santiago, Chile, and is conversant in Spanish.

TONY LEONG '02 is an Emmy awardwinning news producer for NBC Bay Area and has been nominated for another Emmy.

DALE FASSOTH '03 works for LA County Department of Public Health, Health Facilities Inspection Division. Before that, he worked as an RN taking care of neurology patients, primarily those suffering from strokes. ELIOT HAN '03 – “I work in the Research Pharmacy at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Currently, I am working on new drug therapies for Covid-19. Hoping everyone is staying safe at this time!”

DANIELLE MALATY '03 is an experienced trial and appellate attorney in state and federal court, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She defends both governmental and private entities, and her area of expertise includes discrimination, retaliation, violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, sexual assault and abuse, violations of the Fair Housing Act, class action litigation, and employment disputes. Danielle is also an experienced litigator in premises liability, product liability, and professional liability. Her writing has been published by DRI, Bloomberg BNA, ABA, and NRRDA. She is a frequent speaker on continuing education panels through several organizations, including CLM and PLRB.

ABBIGAIL BRIONES '05 is Deputy District Attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

ALEX CORDON '05 – “I'm an electrical engineer working for the Navy doing test and evaluation of ship subsystems. I write quite a bit of code, provide inputs to assessment reports, and am part of process modernization efforts (data science, methodologies, documentation).”

JANET HAN KIM '05 – “I’ve been working in CHLA Neurosurgery as a Physician Assistant for almost seven years. I will be moving to Cedars Sinai Neurosurgery in September 2020. I got married July 1, 2017 to husband Eugene Kim, MD (who also works at CHLA).”

DEEPTI MADAN '05 graduated from a master's program and was accepted into her top choice medical school in Southern California. She is incredibly grateful for her initial foray into medicine through the Health Careers Focus Program at Providence High School.

AMALA KASTURIRAJ '06 – “I am a full time interior designer specializing in new construction and residential home remodels. I won San Diego Home and Garden’s Kitchen of the Year contest. I’m building homes in San Diego, Los Angeles, and even as far as in Alaska! It’s an exciting venture that I love doing.”

JILLIAN BARTELS '07 - “I left my most recent tour (Aladdin) for grad school at Columbia University in Clinical Psychology with the hopes of helping shift mental health in the entertainment industry."

CLAUDETTE BANARES '08 and NICHOLAS (NICK) GINDRAUX '08 were married on May 22, 2020. Claudette is a pediatric speech-language pathologist at Glendale Adventist and Nick does art work on movie projects (his most recent one was with the Star Wars Mandalorian series).

TAYLOR ADNEY O'BRIEN '08 - “I went to school at Tulane in New Orleans and then moved to Houston to do Teach For America. I got my masters in education, and I have been teaching here for the past eight years. I made the switch from public to Catholic school five years ago, and absolutely love it! Teaching is the most incredible and rewarding career. However, this is my last year for a while. I’m going to stay home for a few years. I am married and have one son (so far) who is almost two.”

KAREN DEVADOSS '09 - “Right after being a part of the Medical Focus Program at PHS, I went straight to medical school in India. I'm currently doing my family medicine residency near Palm Springs, CA. My focus is the integration of direct primary care and mental health.”

ANNELIESE LAUE '09 – “After getting my MPH I worked for two years at PAREXEL as a Research Associate to put myself through school to become a Registered Nurse. I'm also concurrently enrolled in CSULA's ADN-BSN Bridge Program and will graduate Spring 2021. I'm working as a Student Nurse Intern at Huntington Hospital and have the goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner in the future. I am married to a handsome Marine veteran and we hope to have kids soon. For our honeymoon we backpacked through Europe for 45 days! I am also a proud aunt!”

2010’s EMILY STEPHENS '10 - “I’m a newlywed with our first child on the way! Our Pioneer is due October 2020.”

MADELEINE GARIBALDI '12 – “I graduated from UC Irvine in 2016 with a Bachelor's of Science in Earth System Science. I have since moved to Lethbridge, Alberta Canada and got my Master's of Science in Geography from the University of Lethbridge in 2018, studying permafrost in the Canadian High Arctic. Currently I am in my second year of a PhD program in Earth, Space and Physical Science at the University of Lethbridge, studying permafrost in Yukon territory.”

SERGEY KUSTOV '13 graduated from California State University of Northridge in December 2018 with a major in microbiology and a minor in chemistry. He is a microbiologist with multiple extending branches of development and progress in microbial genetics, microbial cytology, immunology, and virology and is currently working for Gilead Sciences as a microbiologist with progress in research, synthesis, and filling of Remdesivir (COVID 19 candidate therapy).

As of August 2020, Sergey is a full time student at University of Southern California working toward his Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

DANIELLE DOMINGUEZ '14 – “I recently finished up my Fulbright as an English Foreign Language teacher on the island of Cyprus. I taught Greek Cypriots and refugee students from neighboring countries including Syria! I am on my way to law school at Cornell University in the fall where I hope to study international law and immigration law. Thinking of all of my fellow Pioneers!”

MAKENNA SIEVERTSON '14 – “I was recently accepted to American University's Journalism and Digital Storytelling masters program. I currently work for the US House of Representatives Radio and Television Correspondents' Gallery as of April 2019. Since graduating in 2014, I studied journalism and political science at California State University of Northridge. Less than a month after graduating college, I moved to Washington DC to intern with Congresswoman Doris Matsui. After months of searching, I was hired with the Radio TV Gallery. This has been a great experience where I have been able to work with organizing logistics with the Mueller testimony, impeachment hearings, lying in state of Elijah Cummings, and State of the Union. I would love to work or speak to any students interested in journalism and politics!”

ADA-NICOLE SANGER '16 graduated summa cum laude from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership and Applied Management and a minor in Film and Video.

CRISTINA CORRAL '17 – “I graduated from UC San Diego in Spring 2020 with my Bachelor's of Science in Biology! I am planning on applying to Dental school next. All the AP class credits I got at PHS let me finish it in three years instead of four!”
