dear FriendS oF Providence HigH ScHool,
This edition of Pioneer Connections focuses heavily on service. Our Mission Statement guides us to be a community of service to others, and I am so proud that service is an integral and meaningful part of our school culture. “We Care Wednesday” is a powerful program that is almost entirely student-run, and our annual Advent Drive for needy families is a robust and successful tradition. This community also serves those in need, “the poor and vulnerable,” in times of natural disaster. We have had so many world disasters lately – hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, etc. Providence High School recently jumped in to support Incarnate Word Academy High School (IWA) in Houston, Texas. Our students raised $5,000.00 in two short weeks to help this wonderful Catholic school get back on their feet after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. We were one of only four high schools in the U.S. to send funds to IWA.
Over the last seven years, many facility improvements have taken place at Providence High School – new Science Center, relocated and refurbished Chapel and Learning Commons, refurbished Medical, Cinema Arts, and Technology Focus Program Centers, refurbished Weight Room and Training Room, modernized classrooms, and updated restrooms. This past summer saw the creation of our amazing new Technology Focus Program Center. You need to come on by and see this fabulous learning and creation space if you haven’t seen it yet!
The safety of our students is of the utmost importance to us. With the help from a generous gift from the Sisters of Providence, Mother Joseph Provence, we have purchased six new mini vans to transport our students to athletic events, Christian Service activities, retreats, Mock Trial competitions, Robotics competitions, Academic Decathlon events, and other extracurricular events. We deeply appreciate the support of our foundresses, the Sisters of Providence.
Thank you for your support of the Providence Fund. We are able to transform this school from good to great in every way because of loyal donors like you. If you have not had a chance to participate in this annual Providence Fund, please consider doing so. All of the information is available on our website – www.providencehigh. org.
Please make certain to follow us on social media – Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Also, please stop by campus if you haven’t been here in a while. We love to show off our talented students, faculty and staff!
Yours in Providence,

Joe Sciuto Head of School YOU BELONG HERE.
