dear FriendS oF Providence HigH ScHool,

Welcome to another edition of Pioneer Connections. This edition will spotlight the honoring of long-time Providence High School supporters, Ray and Carmen Ferrante who were awarded the Mother Gamelin Society Award. Thank you again to all of you for your continuous support of Providence High School.

This edition of Pioneer Connections will highlight the innovative education that our young Pioneers receive here at Providence High School. Our students are engaged in our school community, and they are active in our greater Los Angeles community and beyond through our outstanding Christian Service Program and our extra-curricular programs.

As people of Providence, we are all Mission-Inspired members of this wonderful community. The Sisters of Providence established their mission early on, and we continue the idea of “Caritas Christi urget nos” – The love of Christ compels us. We strive to reveal God’s love to all. Our Mission is strong, and our students become better people as they grow as leaders and as people. We give more leadership opportunities to our students than most other schools. This is important as our students embrace one of our school mottos, “Find out what inspires you.” We believe that it is important for us to continually give our students opportunities for inspiration. Author Parker Palmer writes, “Our deepest calling is to grow into our own authentic self-hood, whether or not it conforms to some image of who we ought to be. As we do so, we will not only find the joy that every human being seeks--we will also find our path of authentic service in the world.” Our Providence students are selfaware and spiritual, and they leave us ready to make a difference in the world.

Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Check in at our public website frequently – www.providencehigh. org and come out to school events. You are always welcome!

Thank you for your support of the Providence Fund, and I look forward to seeing you around campus. Have a wonderful summer!

Yours in Providence,

Joe Sciuto Head of School YOU BELONG HERE.
