THE WOODLAND TRUST CARBON CAPTURE As part of our sustained commitment to minimising environmental impact, we contribute a levy through our purchase of paper, which is passed on to The Woodland Trust via a Carbon Capture Programme. This initiative has supported The Woodland Trust to plant hundreds of thousands of square metres of new native woodland in the UK, helping to capture hundreds of tonnes of carbon.

Hampton Court was one of Henry VIII’s favourite palaces, surrounded by beautiful and varied parkland on the north bank of the River Thames. The splendid red-brick palace was built by Cardinal Wolsey from 1516 to 1520 as a gift for King Henry VIII, who added the huge turreted gatehouse, a Royal Tennis Court, an astronomical clock, the Great Dining Hall and some enormous kitchens. In the 17th century, the gardens were landscaped by Sir Christopher Wren and the famous maze planted. The small knot garden was created in 1924 in the style of the original Tudor gardens. This 6.5mile (10.6km) walk starts from Hampton Court station. It follows a section of Thames Path around the edge of Hampton Court Park along the river to Kingston where the London Loop footpath is used to explore the ponds of Bushy Park and the Deer Park before returning to the Palace entrance.

Situated between the towns of Tyndrum and Bridge of Orchy, this beautiful body of water is surrounded by mountain scenery that makes it one of the most picturesque destinations in the United Kingdom. From its northern shore, visitors can enjoy views across the entire lake towards Rannoch Moor. This area is also home to some excellent hiking trails such as Beinn Achaladair and Beinn Dorain, which offer spectacular vistas over Glen Coe. Fishing enthusiasts will be pleased to know that Loch Tulla has an abundance of brown and rainbow trout just waiting to be caught!

Tŵr Mawr Lighthouse, Ynys Llanddwyn, Anglesey, Wales Translated as ‘the island of the church of St Dwynwen’ and accessible by a causeway at low tide, the landmarks of Ynys Llanddwyn include the ruins of the church of the Welsh patron saint of lovers - according to a 5th-century legend. Since 1873 the lighthouse has waymarked the entrance into the infamously treacherous waters of the Menai Strait.

Sculpted rice terraces cover the mountainsides below the snowline in Ghandruk, a village nestling among the Annapurna massif and offering views of Annapurna I, the world’s tenth-highest mountain. A traditional agricultural Gurung community, the village of teahouses, food vendors, temples and stone-slab and wooden farmhouses is a hive of activity year round and particularly in July when new rice seedlings are planted.

Dominated by the craggy peak of Reinebringen, the villages of Reine – nearest the mountain – and Hamnøy hug the coastline of Moskenes Island in the picture perfect Lofoten archipelago. Traditional wooden buildings nestle among the soaring landscape, although much of the original rorbuer (fishermen’s cabins) of Reine were destroyed by fire during the Second World War. Visitors taking in the incredible views by sea kayak or boat trip can catch sight of white-tailed sea eagles, sperm whales and killer whales.

‘GENERAL SHERMAN’ GIANT SEQUOIA (Sequoiadendron giganteum)
Giant sequoias are some of the largest trees on earth and the individual known as ‘General Sherman’ in the Sequoia National Park, California, is among the world’s largest known living trees, measured by volume, standing at 83 metres tall with a trunk diameter of approximately 11 metres at its base. At between 2,300 and 2,700 years old this giant among giants is also thought to be one of the longest-lived specimens on the planet, and it is still growing. ZANZIBAR RED COLOBUS AND BABY (Piliocolobus kirkii) The endangered Zanzibar red colobus is found on just three islands of the Zanzibar archipelago, off the coast of Tanzania. They spend almost all of their time in the tree canopy, grazing on their main diet of leaves, unripe fruit, seeds and flowers, and use their long legs to leap between trees. Young Zanzibar red colobus monkeys have only black and white coats at first, their red and brown colouring appearing at between three and five months old. Although they have few non-human predators, including chimpanzees and crowned eagles, their numbers are threatened by development encroaching on their habitat, restricting their ability to move between trees to find food when forest areas become fragmented. Of the nine giraffe subspecies, the reticulated is the most well-known, found in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa including populations in Northern Kenya and Somalia. Despite their size - males can grow to more than five metres in height and weigh nearly 2,000 kilograms - they are able to gallop at 56 kilometres per hour, helping them to escape predators. Giraffes spend much of their time grazing on succulent foliage high in the treetops, out of reach of most herbivores, and they prefer thorny acacia trees above all. Young giraffes start to graze within a few weeks of birth but will continue to nurse from their mother until they are 15 to 17 months old.

Its creation coincided with the launch of a Formula One team bearing the Caterham name in 2013 raising the profile of the brand to a level where a new sports car model might be added to Caterham’s successful Seven range, originally based on Colin Chapman’s Lotus Seven. With a carbon-fibre body honed in the F1 team’s wind tunnel, the AeroSeven featured a two-litre Ford Duratec engine delivering 237bhp to the rear wheels with advanced traction and launch control systems and weighing in at just 635kg, propelling it from 0-60 in under four seconds. PAPER STOCK
Great imagery is the key to creating stunning calendars. We will use our 50 plus years’ experience of image search and selection and our vast knowledge of reprographics to ensure that the vibrancy of your images is second to none.
DESIGN
All our paper stock is sourced from Carbon Capture suppliers and many of our calendars are printed on triple coated art papers to further enhance the colour reproduction. Premium paper stocks can also be selected when you want to achieve maximum impact but product specifications can vary to suit your individual requirements and budget allowances.
Every design is considered for size and layout making your calendar truly bespoke – alternatively you can choose one of our existing formats and we can customise it for you. We are experienced calendar manufacturers, not just printers, so we understand the process of date design, legibility and accuracy.
We can provide corrugated postal cartons or white board envelopes from our range of stock packaging or we can create something unique to truly personalise your gift.

Our knowledgeable team is always available to help and advise you throughout the process from the original brief to the finished calendar.
Our printing techniques are roughly twice the quality of commercial print to ensure the quality of each image is enhanced to maximum effect. A long hanger and unique 4-to-the-inch wiro binding on the majority of our wall calendars ensures they hang flat and pages turn easily all through the year. Desk calendars are manufactured with a sturdy 350gsm easel.

BINDING
The Carbon Capture initiative offsets CO2 emissions created through the production, storage and distribution of the paper used in our calendars. Working in partnership with The Woodland Trust, this paper stock contributes to the purchase of new trees which absorb carbon from the atmosphere. We use triple coated art paper to ensure vibrancy of printing and best colour reproduction. It is important that durable paper stocks are selected so that your calendar remains in good condition for a whole year whatever environment it hangs in – from air conditioned offices to steamy kitchens!
Allan & Bertram calendars are bound with a wiro binding and with a full width hanger – this seemingly small detail ensures the calendar lies flat on the wall all year without the need for cumbersome backboards.
CANVAS–EMBOSSING Another special feature of Allan & Bertram – where the paper is fed though a special embossing machine, custom built for us. It gives the paper a texture and feel that’s unique. To see which titles are canvas embossed see the specification details under each calendar title.
PACKAGING
POSTING AND FULFILMENT
It’s not just the calendars that make Allan & Bertram special; it’s the protection we give them all the way to your clients. The large wall calendars are packed in strong corrugated postal packs that are designed to ensure they arrive in pristine condition. Postal tubes or boxes are also available on many titles, and some clients prefer these for posting overseas. Junior and desk calendars are packed in smart board envelopes.

All calendars have been specially designed to be overprinted with your branding. Please ask a member of the sales team for the artwork specification sheets for your chosen calendar titles which give you all the information we will require.
Our production procedure always includes a PDF proof sent for your official sign off before any calendar is ready to go to print.
We only invoice you once your calendars have been dispatched, even if you have ordered 10 months before. Payment terms are 30 days.

Normally calendars are delivered throughout the autumn but we can deliver as early as July/August if you wish.

DIARIES Choose a promotional diary to promote your brand directly to your customers We offer ten elegant diary collections in different sizes to keep your branding close to your customers. Choose from the Quarto desk diary size with differing styles and designs and year date formats. Or if you prefer something more compact, the A5 diary range, pocket and A4 desk sizes of diary are offered in many different styles. Customisation options include blind embossing on many titles, and some offer the possibility to upgrade with padded covers, metallic corners, or your own bespoke inset pages.

When an opportunity arose in 1963, Allan & Bertram was formed in a small premises in the market town of Waltham Abbey, Essex. Now, over 50 years on, this is our story. Things were very different in the printing industry then – black and white was the norm, colour was new and expensive and those were the days of Ludlow type. The industry was still blessed with the skills of engravers, embossers and typesetters; type cases weren’t just for decoration. The air was full of the satisfying sounds, rhythmic clatter and the unmistakable smell of manufacture.

YOUR ALL AN & BERTR AM CALENDAR All our calendars can be recycled, helping to ensure our products are as environmentally friendly as possible throughout their lifecycle. Follow the guide below on how to safely disassemble your product for recycling:
4. Pull the binding away from the calendar leaves in a quick motion. 5. Continue to pull the binding away until it’s no longer attached.
1. Remove the long metal hanger (Wall-calendar only). 2. Hold the calendar firmly on a flat surface. 3. Grip the end of the spiral binding with your thumb and forefinger.
You will be able to recycle the metal and paper in your usual office or domestic recycling. Please take extra care when disassembling your calendar for recycling as the ends of the wires can be sharp.
