Ethnic Groups of Myanmar

Myanmar (Burma) is a country full of Traditions and Ethnicities. The county has 8 main Ethnic Groups; Arakan, Bamar, Chin, Kachin, Karen, Kayah Mon and Shan which is made up of 135 Ethnicities across the country and the country map of Myanmar (on the right) shows where most of these 8 Ethnic Groups resides. Although the main language of Myanmar is Burmese, each Ethnic Group has their own language they speak and many have also adapted to speak otherlanguages such as Chinese, Thai, Indian and many more as the country shares border with many of these Asian countries. Since Myanmar has a huge about of different Ethics, there are also many different religions such as Buddhism, Christianity, Muslim, Hindurisum etc however majority of the country follows Buddhism. As well as the languages they speak, each Ethnic Group has their own traditions such as their own outfit they wear (pictures below), dances and celebrations. Each State is very unique in their own way, for example the Shane State has very well known for their Shan food across the country. Food such as Shan Noodles are very popular and loved by many Burmese people and are available most places around the country but visiting the State itself will let you discover the best of them. This applies for all the other States as they all have many amazing things to offer. There are many beautiful traditions to be discover within Myanmar but because the Country is still in its develop ing stage, all these facts and traditions are unknown to many people around the World. At this moment in time, only when actually visiting the country and one travel around to see will understand the things that has yet to be discovered by others.
