We are pleased to highlight several new additions to the catalogue. We’ve added two new editions of music by Ralph Vaughan Williams in association with the Massey University Music Edition and Nathaniel Lew (Saint Michael’s College, Colchester, Vermont). The new editions include Richard II (PME16), the incidental music written by Vaughan Williams for the BBC’s 1944 radio play version of Shakespeare’s play of the same title and a new rehearsal edition of Scenes from Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress (PME15) to compliment our 2009 publication of the same work (PME14). Our University Edition: New Zealand Series has grown to nine editions, showcasing the works of composers from the New Zealand universities of Auckland, Canterbury, Waikato, Otago and Victoria University of Wellington. This series grows by three editions per year and focuses on orchestral, chamber and instrumental works from different composers at each of these institutions. Highlights from our flagship Promethean Edition series include new works for string ensembles. These include works for string quartet by Farr, Mondo Rondo (PE033), Hatzis’s String Quartet No.1: The Awakening (PE117) and String Quartet No.2: The Gathering (PE107) and Psathas’s Kartsigar (PE176).
More works for string quartet are in preparation for
publication in 2015. We have also released four new percussion quartets:
tenary Edition – the publication of four remaining unedited and typeset orchestral works – as well as the continuation of the Lilburn Complete Piano Music Edition. The Centenary Edition is comprised of the first editions of Drysdale Overture (1937), Prodigal Country (1939), A Song of Islands (1946) and Symphony No.1 (1949). Both collections are scheduled to be completed by November 2015, in time for the centenary celebration of Lilburn’s birth. This collection of 14 music editions will be complimented with classroom resources designed for secondary schools. In addition, 2015 marks our entry into digital collections. From January, we will be providing a revolutionary new subscription service to music libraries through our own dedicated Promethean Editions Digital Editions service (PEDE). PEDE provides online access for library patrons including an online viewing platform using an intuitive eBook reader, with bookmarking, annotation and markup features, plus the abilility to download high-resolution Acrobat® PDF versions, using the Adobe® Digital Editions system. PEDE will be available to music libraries on a subscription basis for 12, 24 and 36 month periods. (Refer to page 11 for more details). All the best for 2015. Ross Hendy
