Repair Cafe
Repair Café
Has anyone heard of, or been to the Truro Repair Café, held monthly for a couple of hours in Truro library or at other venues in Truro?

The idea is that you combine several people who like to fix things, with several people who have something to be fixed, in a social environment. Then, over a cuppa and a chat, the handle on granny’s favourite teapot is glued back on, the puncture on Sally’s bike is mended, and George has a button sewn back on his work shirt. I’m sure you have the picture by now.
It seems (to me) to be an idea worth exploring, especially as most of us need to start to think more about what currently gets thrown away. Perhaps a simple repair may give an otherwise unuseable item a new lease of life. The café could also provide a social aspect, an opportunity to share and acquire skills in a safe environment.
Would anyone in the village be interested in possibly joining an occasional pop-up repair café in Probus? We would need people with a variety of different skills prepared to give a couple of hours for the community. If this resonates, get in touch with the Editor: editorprobusnews@gmail.com
