A new way to install security electronics systems

4G communicator is upgraded and enhanced

Texecom has announced the upgraded and enhanced version of its SmartCom 4G communicator. Following a focused programme of development, the gateway communicator now benefits from enhanced connectivity across all 4G bands. Signal sensitivity on all the main bands has also been improved increasing usable range from masts in some instances by up to four times. A new antenna also provides a stronger signal ensuring reliability in any environment where 4G signals are available. Professional security installers can also benefit from an enhanced algorithm which ensures the SmartCom 4G is more resilient, staying connected in even the most extreme environments. Installation has been further improved with the introduction of a new QR code configuration making setup quick and easy, whilst the site-management process has been streamlined through the introduction of a new interface.

Working with installers, Dycon has developed the XLB range, described as a new concept in secure, easy-to-fit housings. The XLB or XLBD box comes with a Dycon power supply module already fitted. The choices include 110VAC or 230VAC models with voltage outputs of 12VDC or 24VDC, and power outputs from 0.5A to 10A. Most feature Dycon’s switched-mode units but the range also includes a toroidal 230VAC24VAC 4A unit. Each ProFix XLB box has pre-drilled fixing holes for Dycon power supply modules and a range of access control units making future swap-outs or exchanges quick and simple. In addition, there are additional fixing holes for expander modules and battery retaining ties.

Streaming technology to enhance local viewing Eagle Eye Networks has launched Eagle Eye QL Stream, a new technology that powers live, full-resolution, low-latency camera feeds to enhance local video viewing. With Eagle Eye QL Stream, security professionals can view surveillance video that is cybersecure, full resolution and full-frame rate when on the local network. Comprising a set of web, mobile and cloud technologies, Eagle Eye QL Stream uses secure authorisation to obtain and route live video from security cameras. It concentrates all cameras to a single IP address and reduces camera password management complexity, which simplifies live local viewing.
