Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and if you’re just starting your search for the perfect invitation, then I welcome you to the wonderful world of wedding invitations, save the dates, and paper details! I was inspired to create the Wedding Invitation Ideas lookbook because, well, I love invitations, but also because I understand how challenging it can be to find the time during the wedding planning process to juggle all of the different things that you need to do, even if those things — like looking for pretty wedding invitations — can be a lot of fun. The Wedding Invitation Ideas lookbook serves as a quick visual reference and resource for couples at any stage in their wedding invitation search, and I hope that it will become a helpful addition to your collection of wedding inspiration.

W
hen you’re on the hunt for the perfect invitation, you can easily find yourself feeling overwhelmed by all of the possibilities available to you. This is why I get so excited when I come across an invitation line like Claremont Collection, a letterpress wedding invitation collection from Curious & Company, a full-service design studio with a particular penchant for identity, stationery, web design … and, with the debut of Claremont Collection, weddings, too! When Brooke Forry and her business partners, Terry Baker and Maggie Moore, formed Curious & Company, Brooke was thrilled to take the lead on their stationery pursuits. She quickly channeled her passion for all things stationery, particularly wedding invitations, into action, and the group began work on what would eventually become the Claremont Collection, named after Claremont Road, the street on which Brooke grew up and of which she still has many fond childhood memories. Claremont Collection launched with ten beautiful designs representing a wide range of styles. You’ll find mid-century modern designs alongside those inspired by the dynamic decades (cont’d on page 44)

Available paper colors, envelope and liner colors, and ink colors are shown beside every invitation, and you can easily download a PDF of the full invitation suite and a pricing grid for future reference, too. Letterpress printing for Claremont Collection is by the amazingly talented Colleen Walsh of Cleanwash Letterpress, who prints all of the invitation suites, as well as invitation and ink swatch samples that can be ordered through the Claremont Collection website. BROOKE’S TOP 10 TIPS FOR ORDERING LETTERPRESS WEDDING INVITATIONS 1} If you love letterpress but aren’t sure you can afford it, consider a one color design instead of something with two or three colors. A one color design can be just as beautiful and you will still get the beautiful texture of letterpress.

4} Letterpress is an art form. There is a lot of it out there in the world of weddings, but the quality of the printing often varies. Take a look at samples in person before committing – a little extra money sometimes means a much more high quality product and less headaches throughout the process.
9} If ordering items for the day of your wedding (or post-wedding) such as place cards, menus and thank you cards, it is often best to order at the same time as your invitations. This can cut down on additional set-up costs since all items will be able to be printed together.
5} Be sure to have a full invitation suite weighed at the post office before you purchase your postage. Remember that square invitations always require extra postage, regardless of the weight.
10} Never be afraid to ask for something that you want. If you find an invitation design that you love but you don’t see the ink color you’d like, or you were hoping for a square invitation instead of a rectangle, reach out to the designer and see if they can make some modifications just for you. Chances are, they’ll be happy to!
