Dipped Confections

This month, we caught up with a local cottage food operator. Her name is Julie Iversen and she’s the owner of Dipped Confections. Julie is turning her creativity, talent and passion for baking into a profitable side hustle.

My very first order was for a girlfriend who attended one of our parties. She asked if I would be willing to bake for her daughter’s wedding of 200 guests. I was definitely a bit hesitant as baking was “just a hobby” for me at that time, but I was also excited and I did it! That order quickly turned into more orders & Dipped Confections was established.

MOMSTOWN: Is Dipped Confections a cottage food business or do you operate out of a commercial kitchen?

JULIE: Yes, Dipped Confections is a licensed Cottage Food Home Baking Business

MOMSTOWN: What advice do you have to help others follow their passions and dreams?

JULIE: My advice would be to find your passion and follow it where it leads you. I honestly never really thought much about my passion for baking turning into an actual business, I just knew that it was my happy place. It wasn’t until friends started asking me to bake for them and one referral led to another that I realized this could be more than just a hobby. I recently completed my largest order to date of one thousand Cake Pops! It was both challenging and exciting and most definitely a “pinch me moment.” I’m excited to continue following my passion and look forward to seeing where it leads me in 2023!

Custom orders are welcomed year-round, and we offer holidaythemed specialty treats.

Spring is a busy season, with Easter, Teacher Appreciation Week, and Graduations.
