NUTMOBILE DELIVERS MEALS ON WHEELS MR. PEANUT® visits seniors in need in Southeast San Diego

On Monday, January 30, Meals on Wheels San Diego County received a special visit from PLANTERS® and the famous MR. PEANUT®!

THE NUTMOBILE™ first visited the nonprofit’s Metro San Diego Service Center (2254 San Diego Avenue in Old Town) to meet a few members of the Meals on Wheels San Diego County team.

From there, volunteers with PLANTERS® drove the iconic mobile to nine homes in the Southeast San Diego community to deliver meals to seniors in need. These special deliveries were all part of the company’s annual national campaign where three “Peanutters,” Kevin, Alexa and Grace travel across the country to lend a helping hand to select nonprofits.

Meals on Wheels San Diego County was one of a couple of stops THE NUTMOBILE™ made on its stop in San Diego.

ABOUT THE NUTMOBILE™

It only made sense that the official ride of MR. PEANUT® matches his wit and dapper attire. So, in 1935, the first peanut car was built and used by a PLANTERS® brand salesman. Since then, it has evolved from one peanut car, to a Hot Rod, to a fleet of vehicles. Today, there is one active NUTmobile vehicle on the road, spreading joy and bringing people together to share delicious, craveable PLANTERS® brand nuts.
